I was going to bump my "Need a Rackie Robinson" thread, bue a couple bad apples pretty much ruined it... so yes, I'm starting another.
So is this legit?
I've never heard of CSA, and honestly, this looks trimmed. Can someone help?

CSA has had two existences - one which they were just like PRO with lots of trimmed cards, and another where they cleaned up their act. The flips look different, and I can't remember which is which. But from the looks of this one, this style of flip is the bad one.
Nice looking Rackie!
I'm not good on spotting trimming, so I would say:
PSA 7.5
BVG 6
BCCG 8
PRO 10!
Giovanni
It's a bummer.
the search goes on!
must have been clipped at supercuts.

That's a really nice card Alan - and it's a shame if it's been trimmed - ruined for life!
On CSA - the company was a 'franchise' spin-off of ASA - Accugrade which was started by Alan Hager in the early 90s. Hager was the originator of the Arrowhead holder and the 10 pt. grading scale. Some say he's shady? I met him in 1992 - knows tons about cards and was very nice to talk to - but his company graded in favor of him selling - that I saw for myself - so I wouldn't buy anything from him.
PSA at that time was just getting started - so this was the "ground floor" of grading so to speak. Another company in the early 90s that failed was Superlative Grading Company.
Around 1993? SCD had full page adds by Hager for the sale of franchises of his company. The only one I recollect opening was CSA which was in Ohio somehwere I recollect?
Alan Hager for good or bad was a pioneer of sorts and will always be remembered for the best holder ever designed and patenting the 10 point grading system along with the holder.
ASA.

I'll definitelty hold off on this one and try for the PSA 6 (maybe 7) that I want.
Trying to "pull one over" on someone by slabbing it in a "lesser" companies slab is kinda fraud if you ask me, but to each their own I guess.
Ladies and gentlemen, this might be the one....
This thing is gourgous.
Question: What does his note about third party insurance mean? I've never seen this before... I'm still protected through Paypal though, if I dont get it or something, right?
Nice PSA 6 Rackie

Collectibles Insurance Agency offers different levels of policies that cover collectibles. Some of their policies also cover shipping. I used to have insurance through them when I used to do a lot of shipping, and it's MUCH cheaper that paying insurance each time through the USPS, UPS, FedEX, etc. If you do a large volume of shipping, it's really a great way to protect against loss. They have certain rules you have to follow when shipping, but its pretty straightforward. They are supposedly really good about paying claims as well, although I never had to file a claim with them.
Yes, you are still protected through Paypal with the same limited protection that they usually provide.
Good luck, I hope you win the card you've been looking for.
Mike
This one sold for $821.00
This one sold for $888.13
This one sold for $650.00
This one sold for $785.00
This one sold for $1,036.11
That last one might be a little nicer than the one I'm looking at.
Feedback welcome. Thanks!
