Here's some of my cards from my most recent poppage. I love to here opinions on what the 8.5s might bring. (There are 5 9's of the Slaughter and Score, no 10's) I'm going to sell a few and keep a few back for now. I really love these cards, but I have to pay for them somehow.
The best pitch to start a hitter off with is always strike one.

I have no idea what 8.5's go for.

Thanks for adding the scans....
I always love looking at any high grade 50's set.......
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
1) IMHO has the best overall design and visual appeal (although 1954 and 1955 are gorgeous too)
2) No major RC's (unless you count Aparicio) and commons for the first and last cards make the set reasonably affordable compared to other 50's sets.
3) Has the last cards of Jackie Robinson, Bob Feller, and Phil Rizzuto, and being the first Topps set after the demise of Bowman, contains more of the major superstars than any other 50's set (i.e. Mantle, Williams, Mays, Aaron, Clemente, Koufax), missing only Musial.

I agree 100%. The '56 T is my fave set from the '50s as well, for very reasons you mentioned. Who among us can withstand the beauty of these cards? Not I. And you're right, the player selection is 2nd to none. The Giants & Dodgers are still in their NY uniforms, this was the first year for team cards, the last year the card size was slightly bigger...gotta love those '56s!!
