Anyone have Babe Ruth's wife auto?

I stumbled on a auction that has a pic of Babe and its signed. Ms. Ruth NYC 1922. Seller states it says Mr but It looks like a Ms and it's not Babe's "Ruth" at all. Im not interested in it but just curious of whose auto it is unsure if someone on here is bidding.

Didn't someone show us one a few months back?

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I think that was a auction for James Naismith where he wrote a letter to his Wife addressed to Mrs. James Naismith

  • If no one coughs up that they are interested, should I post the link?

I remember seeing that thread on here too. Think there was one with a ticket stub signed and someone posted another one in the same thread. Definitely here, I don't visit 54 very often

Ruth was married twice; without checking, I believe in 1922 he was still married to his first wife, who died in a fire around 1930. The second wife Claire (the one whose Mrs. Babe Ruth auto is much more common) lived for many years after Babe's death and often signed as "Mrs. Babe Ruth". But a 1922 version of the sig could be rare if I'm correct in that it would make it his first wife.
  • Hmm. So if it was his 1st wife's auto it wouldnt be a Ms.

I would like to see the link for comparisons , I am curious to see if it is Helen Ruth , Claire Ruth or maybe his daughter Julia .

Yeah they are. As previously mentioned, I dont want to drop the dime on someones action though. Dont you hate it when your trying for something and next thing you know it gets extra publicity? If no one posts that their already trying for it by tomorrow, then I will link it.

Oh and I cant post pics either as they are water marked.

My guess is that it's not an auto. It may be just stating that was MR. Ruth in NYC in 1922

Wow, that is so hard to tell if it says Mr or Ms , I am going to say Mr. and someone else wrote it , I wonder if the pic is original though , nice frame too, great pic and well worth what it's bid up to at this point .

I don't think I have ever seen any sigs by his first wife, his second wasn't around yet , definitely not his sig that's for certain .
