I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Proof 1913 T1 Buffalo from Angel Dee's (actually, it was from Pushkin at Andy's table, but I didn't know it was him until after the show).

    Waiting for TDN...

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

The most I've ever paid on on on coin was 15 bucks for on on 1944 AU50 walker with slight tan toning, which I now notice has small crack on the planchet and possible doubling on the word america. The dealer never really got on on good look I think because I bought it right after another guy sold it to him. My first possible cherrypick! I'll try to get some pics as soon as I find my camera. Now excuse me while I enthuse over my good find.
Coins please me, they please me so...

    1909 S VDB MS66RD OGH.

Just a perfect well struck coin with orange and yellow tones. Of course, some will say SVDBS are common as sand on the beach, but, really thats not the case.
Not in this grade anyway. If I didnt mind losing that lovely Old green holder.....Id resubmit since the only defects I can see are two microscopic nicks on the reverse. Sure would be sweet to have it come back as a MS67RD!

In the future though.....Id love to buy the coin I have as my Icon. An original 1861 CSA cent. Thats 150K roughly, with only 12 known. Lovett lost **LOST** one though, Id dig up Philly if I though I could locate it image

1880 Coiled Hair Stella in 1990. Today, it would grade rock solid 67DCAM, with rich orange color. (Believe it or not, this issue - with a mintage of 10 - comes in two distinct color variations.)

1879 Flow Hair Stella $4 gold, AU58. Lord, I thought I'd faint when the guy on the phone said I'd won it!
Edited to add: The day after I bought it, I went to Dunham's sports and bought a gun safe to put it and
my collections in. Took 5 men to deliver it. Weighed half a ton. Fireproof to 1700 degrees F. Bolted to the floor.
Also used for other things including CDs of all our digital pics taken during our travels.
