UNC gets the best break on location for the big dance

That is the way that the selection tournament likes to treat the #1 seeds but talk about a huge advantage being instate....
they are practically home games for the tar heels.

If UT advances, Houston will be just like home games.

    And guess who has tickets?!?

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

UCLA didn't too bad either in that regard. UCLA is playing their first two games in Anaheim which is about 30 miles from the campus and the OC has a HUGE UCLA alumni base. Then they play the next two in Phoenix which is a quick 5 hour drive from So Cal so will be plenty of fans in attendance. Plus there are a fair number of UCLA alums in Phoenix.

Memphis got shafted again. They have to play Texas in Houston. Last year (or year before) they had to play UCLA in Cal. There is not much point in being a #1 seed if you have to play road games.

When Memphis joins a real conference, and still wins a lot of games, maybe they won't get "shafted." I think they are nothing more than a mid-major and lucky to get a #1 seed.
  • Memphis has the 9th best non conference SOS this season. They've beaten OK, USC, Gonzaga, Georgetown, Arizona and Siena (all NCAA tournament teams)...and scheduled Tenn late in the season. Not many teams, including mid majors like Gonzaga, play as tough as a non conference schedule as Memphis. They have talent on the court and a coach who has led this team to two straight elite eight appearances. Dont dismiss them just because your memory forces you to focus on Conf USA play. This is a good team that is capable of getting to San antonio and rightfully deserved a one seed.
