Frank Robinson Autographed Piece

image

I received this piece from DECA as a prize back in 2000. It was issued in 1996 in conjunction with Campbell's Soups. I am not sure of who else was issued. It is serial numbered out of 2000. Think there would be any interest in this piece on ebay or should I cut the signature out and have somebody make a custom cut card with it?

He is a common HOF autograph so it is not worth a lot of money as you likely understand from your question.

Also, in my opinion it is worth much more then a Robinson cut would be.

If a cut auto can be for a collection, why can't the original?

    Just my $0.02.
  • I prefer cards over large posters. image Also, this thing has sustained some damage. Luckily not on the auto itself. Seems like a good candidate for Knuckles, image

Prolly a silly question but seeing that it has F Robby in his Marine uniform I'd think it would be
better off kept the way it is?

    Steve
    Good for you.

I agree with you re, Knuckles.

Keeping it poster size can be a problem too.

let us know what you decide and good luck!

You have a beautiful poster, that from the looks of the picture has flaws but those are mainly along a border and could be covered by a frame or matting. Then, you talk about cutting up this picture while I think you even mentioned that his autos are plentiful. If they're so plentiful and you want a cut auto of him, sell the poster and keep it's integrity while buying a 3X5 off of ebay for a few bucks and send that to Knuckles.

I know numerous people would enjoy that poster, including me, so don't go ruining it while there are other resources available to achieve what you really want in the end.

Knuckles is going to run you about $100 bucks for a custom card. A Frank Robinson autographed card can be had for less than $25 off of Ebay. Just leave the poster as is, unless you are looking to burn money.

I forgot that reason in my argument too, thanks for reminding me image

Someone else stated his auto's are plentiful, not I.

  • I had no idea Knuckles services were that much. Now that I know, it stays as is. THAT is the type of advice I was seeking. Informative advice about the piece not someone calling me silly.

I gave my opinion and that is what you are faced with when posting a topic. Your idea was silly and I had people pm me in agreement. I provided you with an idea so that you could get a Robby cut auto while maintaining the integrity of the poster. I figured you would be a little more open minded about it.

How was I to know that you had no idea his services were that much or that THAT was the advice that you were seeking?

Just chill brotha and don't take stuff so personally. We are talking about cardboard and paper here anyways!
