I love these Early 1800's darkside pieces in MS - totally affordable
(compared to a $4,000 US dime in the same condition)

Switzerland canton of Aargau - PCGS MS-65

This one has some serious 'die issues' with cuds and cracks all over (die rust?)
especially around the letters and over the date...

Those are billon, yes?

In other words, in circ grades they would be drab grey or even brown. Nice to see with a silvery color.

The toning on the Basel piece is awesome.

You have a superb eye.

Beautiful little coins - as are most older Swiss coins. I think I may have to put these on my list of areas to collect in my next life.
