What type of snipe program do you use?

I have been consistently sniped on so many auctions this month, I couldn't even count them. I want to join the crowd and do it to someone else but have never used any type of software to do so.... What do you use? Why? What benefits? Do you pay for the software? When using the software, how late in the auction do you set it up to bid?

Thanks for your help guys!

These guys are pretty good Just Snipe And you can do a search for sniping, you'll find threads you may find helpful.

I pay $5 a month with paypal, I'm not sure about the benifits??? You get somewthing like 5 bids a month for free, so if you don't use it much, it's free.

I've missed out on auctions I know I could have bid on if I asked before hand, because I live outside the USA, that's the only time it doesn't work for me.

I have been using Gixen for close to a year now with nothing but good things to say about it. The site allows you 10 simultaneous snipes for free, which is enough for most users if you keep your list updated frequently. I was so impressed with the free service that I subscribed... I think it is only $10 for a year. If you subscribe you get unlimited snipes naturally, but you also get the mirror service which fires your snipe from a complete other server just in case one of them fails.

I use Bidnapper. It is $50 a year and has worked for 2 years. I use the standard 6 seconds remaining bid and I am always the last bid placed. You can set it as low as 1 second if you want.

Second vote for Gixen. It's awesome. Totally free (up to 10 snipes at any one time), and unlimited snipes for $6 a year. Best value on the planet.

I use Just Snipe for free.

    Just sniped a 1960 Clemente PSA 6
  • I've used Auction Sentry for years now with no problems. I paid, i think $10.00 for the program and the updates have been free.

Just Snipe gives you 5 snipes a week free. I have had no problems with it.

I've been using Bidding Scheduler for a few months now and haven't had any problems at all. It's completely free and as far as I can tell there's no limit on the number of snipes you can set.

I've read through the Gixen site, and it seems like the only limitation to the free service is that you can "only" have 10 simultaneous snipes set? No weekly, or monthly snipe amounts?
  • Thanks for all of the info guys. I appreciate it.

I just began using bidnapper on a 15 day trial yesterday and had a successful test. I have about 6 snipes set for today with it. I think it's unlimited for 15 days and there's a fee afterward.

www.biddingscheduler.com is free. I think it has failed me once in almost 4 years.
  • Justsnipe
  • Trust a master sniper. Use auctionraptor.com. It's organizes your bids (won, lost and pending). I couldn't be happier. It's how I won all of the cards that I bought on ebay (and am now selling).

justsnipe failed on me too many times, esnipe was better but brutally expensive. Bidnapper has been flawless for 2 years, never missing once.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • My fingers haven't failed me yet image and with all those snipe services, don't you have to give them your password? I wouldn't trust my password with any of those companies, sorry.

Why don't you guys try snipping with your fingers? image

I can't remember me winning an auction by bidding early, I only snip! Of course I do bid on items from time to time, but only to make sure that I am logged in, because I got caught one time, I thought I was logged it and at the last second I tried to snip, only to find out I wasen't loged in image

Correct you are, good sir. Unlike some other services that limit you to a certain number of free snipes during the course of a week or month, Gixen lets you do as many as you like, but only 10 at any given time. Even if you are an active sniper, if you update your snipe list daily, 10 meets the need of most eBayers. Justsnipe and the other free sniping services I looked at didn't give me enough snipes which is why I went with Gixen.

As I said, I was impressed enough to shell out the measly $6.00 for a year subscription... heck, I almost feel guilty only paying that much considering how much time and money it has saved me. Of course not guilty enough to send them more cash...

Well, there's one reason. Another is that you don't have to schedule your day around when an auction you're interested in is ending.
