Fun stuff in the local melt bag (lotsa pics)

The high price of silver is bringing darkside silver out of the woodwork. People are much less discriminating in what they dump.

Picked up the pieces below at melt this week. Some for resale, some as keepers (especially the toners).

Lighting/angle still accentuates the marks on the lustruous silver far more than what the coins look like in hand... *harumph*

    That Iranian piece is neat. As to the BU zinc coin, that's pretty amazing. Like you suggested, one almost never sees it with a silvery color.

    I just sold one of that type that was MS64-ish and had really nice surfaces, but it was the usual grey.

    Great finds. Cool toners and the New Zealand Florin is very nice.
    I agree about dark side coins showing up more often these days.
    I just picked up some nicely toned Austrian proofs for melt.
