lets find out alittle more about members here. what other interests/activities do you participate in besides sportscards. i will start with i am a volunteer domestic violence responder. basically that is- when there is a domestic, the local police departments will call me and i go speak with the victim, sort of like crisis intervention. i make sure their head is on straight again at a time when they really need it. i also teach karate roughly 3-4 times a week. i am also into antique cars. i have a 1970 charger and a 1966 gto. i only bring them out during the summer though. well lets here it guys and gals.

  • I surf, play just about every sport, love to study the history of baseball and I love to lift weights. Outside of the sports world, nothing really interests me now. I guess that's kinda common for your typical teenage guy though.
  • kids take up most our free time. other than that movies, movies, movies...

Wife and kids keep me pretty busy. However, recently joined local Rotary club to venture into service work as I haven't done anything like that in 5 years (with babies at home). I used to golf and might take that up again soon. I love to play basketball. I go to the gym, or for a run, just about every day.

I used to be into bodybuilding before I actually got a real job image

Besides sportscard, I am really into building PCs. I used to be involved heavily in guns and target shooting as well, but haven't had time for it since the family came along.

I play fastpitch softball during the summer and during the winter I'll play with my 12 string.

I would love to own a vintage car. Maybe a barracuda or a 67 cougar.

I also collect coins and anything old.

curling...sure not many of those around these parts. that is unless they are from north of the border (Canada). Boy that Brier final yesterday was pretty bad with ice falling apart and debris blowing down from the rafters.

Lots of the stuff mentioned. Most any card game whether it's $5 Holdem, go fish with the kids or competitive bridge with my dad. Fastpitch softball or 35+ baseball, not sure which I'm playing this summer. I'm hoping to put 3000 miles on a bike this summer as well.

    Steve,

I know there are a few clubs in New York. See if they have any websites and if the offer any introduction sessions. Many do, mine here in Chicago has a learn to curl program that is offered a few times during the curling season. I would direct to usacurl.org to look up some more info, but their server crashed and they are rebuilding the webiste at present.

I also enjoy beer and cigars and prefer to combine both of them with my other interests which include softball, golfing (which I think I'd hate if not for the beer and the cigars), poker with the guys, and reading good books.

I'm a nut for any game that you can never master. I love pool (used to play in 2 leagues), golf (played for my D3 college team and was a 9 handicapper at my lowest - more like a 15 now), poker (play in a regular weekly game) and am known to dominate trivial pursuit games on occasion. I'm also 5 songs away from defeating Guitar Hero III on Expert (d**m Knights of Cydonia!!)

I saw a post from someone up the thread about tournament bridge. I would love to play bridge with people outside of my family but I feel like it's a forgotten game. I always thought I was a decent player but I just can't remember how to keep score. It's funny, but someone else in my family always did.

I also collect signed golf balls and pin flags. I have unique balls from 36 Masters Winners, 32 US Open Winners, 31 PGA Winners, 27 British Open Winners and 37 US Amateur Winners.
