Quick Question: Has There Ever Been a 5 Point Play In The NBA?

Has there ever been a 5 point play in the NBA? Is one even possible? I think the only way this could happen is if a player hits a 3 pointer and he (or a teammate ... or maybe him ONLY) is fouled flagrantly. In which case, I'm thinking the team would get the 3 pointer, 2 free throws and possession of the ball after the free throws (and perhaps another 3 pointer) ... for a possible 8 total points.

In one of the college basketball games yesterday there was a weird play where a foul shot got blocked and if I remember ESPN correctly a technical foul was awarded. The foul shot also was counted as good because they called it goal tending and the T was assessed....guess if you blend that in somehow with scenarios it could result in 7 or 8 point plays....
