New Found Newfoundlands Pics Added...

I am looking through an accumulation for a relative and came across an 1894 Newfoundland 50 cent piece. Can anyone help me out with the Krause number and specifics? I also have a 1908 Newfoundland 5 cent in Fine. I have the Krause number and silver info. but was wondering if anyone could tell me what this coin's value is in F-VF? (I only have an old Krause)image
Thanks. -Frank

The 1894 Newfoundland 50 cent is listed as KM# 6, with a mintage of 40,000, made of sterling (.925 silver) with a ASW of .3504 oz....in the 2007 Charleton Canadian coin catalog, it lists for: G-10.00, VG - $20.00, F - $40.00, VF - $120.00, EF - $400, AU - $2000.00. These prices are listed in Canadian, now that the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US dollar I have no idea if it causes a difference in the value or not.

    Nice find!

I came across some Newfie silver in a bulk lot recently.

I think most of it came from Don (ajaan) originally, and just got mixed into the bulk bags (also mostly from him), but it was kind of a surprise.

There was a fifty-cent piece, too, but it was George V, I think.

A Victorian Newfie 50-cent piece would be nice to see.

Whaat? I hadn't heard that! Scary. I did hear about gold crossing the $1K threshold. Looks like my Holey Gold Hat is a bit more valuable now.
