1955 D Error - Looks like extra metal

I got some eZest today and decided to clean up an old penny I had just laying around. After dipping, I put it under my Dinolite to see how it looked. I noticed this.

Maybe I should have looked at the coin a little more BEFORE dipping. It WAS a nice brown.

    Looks like PMD as L was semi sheared off.

    Post-strike damage. By the way, the term "extra metal" is meaningless and hasn't been used in the hobby for decades.
