Do precious metals prices at Kitco or BullionDirect reflect normally traded at Wall Street hours here in the U.S. of A. or are they different?

Not sure if this is 100% accurate to answer your question, but from Kitco's front page....
"Please Note: Metal price changes are now based on closing prices at 5:15 PM NY time Mon-Fri"

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

You are correct. This is a recent change as they used to keep up with the London market during the evening, well, evening for us anyway.
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

If you study the first kitco chart and look at the bottom of the first chart you see the different exchanges and how their open hours overlap. Time at bottom of chart is EST. There is a short pause in trading every weekday afternoon and trading is suspended from early Friday evening until early Sunday evening.
    Kitco Gold Chart

Now if you go to their "prices" page the quotes WILL REFLECT the current price as long as ONE of the exchanges is open, or the last price if all the exchanges are closed.
    Kitco Metals Prices

Whatever the price (24/7) you can place your order anytime at that price (after the spread for kitco's commision). To see the spread for their pool account (which I use and highly recommend) scroll down the page to see their buy price and their sell price. With the pool account I can trade 24/7 based on the selling prices at the top of the page. Check out the spread on gold, it ain't that much. You can also place pool account orders over the phone, keep your proceeds in a cash account ready for the next purchase or give them a call and tell them to send you a check. With the recent and projected volatility in the metals it makes a good daytrading account as well!

When gold and silver move together, it signals the coming end of fiat money.

Let me get this straight............. you not only own but you recommend paper metal?

In reality, you actually just own paper, you only think you own precious metals.

In addition, it's folks who invest in this sort of stuff that are helping to keep the prices artificially low.

How many ounces of what ever do you think they actually have to back up their paper? My guess is around 1-2%.

On top of all that, Kitco's prices are among the highest anywhere.

I have noticed that the spread on gold is quite small, and Kitco, Apmex, Amark, etc all have very similar quotes, maybe differing only a few cents , but with platinum, there is a much larger disparity in the quotes between companies, sometimes varying many dollars whether during or after trading hours. Does anyone have an explanation for this disparity between companies' quotes concerning platinum? Thanks.

Somehow I don't think this has anything to do with Bajjerfan's question. image

I recommend both. I have a safe full of bullion for the long term and account with kitco that allows me INSTANT sales and purchases at current quote. Lot of money to be made playing the daily ups and downs. You can't do that by receiving and shipping the merchandise.
