At long last! The first $600 of my b-day money arrived; here's what I got so far:

From BBCE:
1976 Topps raw set (I'm upgrading my existing one; if anyone wants to buy the second set, please PM me)
1981 Fleer set (upgrade)
1990 Fleer factory set (upgrade; don't laugh)
2005 Topps factory set (Red Sox version)
2006 Topps factory set (Red Sox version)

From weekendhacker:
1975 Topps PSA 7's:
Aaron HL #1
Thruman Munson #20
Steve Carlton #185
Nolan Ryan K Leaders #312
Gary Carter RC #620

From tennesseebanker:
1977 and 1979 Topps upgrade lots

From augustaman:
1975 Topps Schmidt and 1976 Rose (PSA 7's for both)

From vintagetoppsguy:
1975 Topps PSA 7's:
050 Frank Robinson
194 1956 MVPs
195 1957 MVPs
223 Robin Yount RC

And I still got $90 leftover (plus whatever I can get from the second 1976 Topps set) if anyone wants to help me out on the remaining 1975 and 1976 Topps PSA 7's I need. Not only that, but around the end of this month I'll get an additional $600 for more cards along with some buckets of Kentucky Fried Chicken (native Kentucky dish; very sacred to our people you know) next week. This is going to be the bestest b-day ever (it's on 3/22/80) and I got my wonderful wife to thank for that! Isn't she the sweetest? image

Estil, sounds like you had a nice birthday. Good luck getting the remaining cards for your sets. You should be able to get some nice deals on the 7's and 8's from the mid to late 70's. In my opinion, they are a great value right now. I just bought the 2007 Red Sox factory set. I love the black borders.

By the way, it sounds like you got a nice wife. I am sure you take care of her too.

    Happy Birthday!!!

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • Hey Bud,

Happy birthday to ya! I saw what day you were born and I had to say something... you're 2 DAYS older than I am! How 'bout that, "pops"?

    Take care,
    Ryan

I need to get that 2007 Topps Red Sox factory set as well. Hopefully it'll turn up at BBCE. At least now I'm no longer 3.5 years behind in my Topps run! image

Don't forget that near the end of the month, I'll get ANOTHER $600 to play with. Hopefully I can get me a nice PSA 7 loaded 1974 set with some of that (along with finishing up the PSA 7's for 1975-79)! image

I just received my order from BBCE and augustaman's order. Thanks so much to both! The 1976 set for what I paid for it ($190) looks REALLY good (much better than most of Ebay's raw sets). And I definetly did the right thing upgrading my 1981 Fleer set (it also looks awesome).

tennessebaker's upgrade lots just arrived today and weekendhacker just told me his MO just arrived and those cards are on the way too.

And on top of THAT, I just ordered (with the remaining $90) a 1996 Donruss and 1996 Score set from krukcards, a 1994 Fleer set (includes a free Smoke 'N Heat insert set) also from Ebay, and as soon as my paycheck arrives via direct deposit (around 1AM-2AMish), I'll also be getting a 1993 Stadium Club Members Only set from metalmike. That takes care of the first $600, but don't forget I got another $600 coming near the end of this month not to mention whatever I can get from the spare 1976 Topps set I have on Ebay right now.

Isn't this just the bestest b-day ever? image
