1910 T218 Champions bulk order poppage in record time **SCANS ADDED**

I dropped these 65 cards off at the Philadelphia show on Saturday March 1st using the bulk service level of $8 per card for 50+ cards with an estimated turnaround time of 45 days. They were logged in on Wednesday March 5th and today, Wednesday March 12th, the submission is completed. To be done in 5 business days for an estimated 45 day order is unheard of. Very nice job by PSA, that is unless the fast turnaround caused all the 3's and 4's image

I thought I had more 5's and 6's and less 3's and 4's, but overall I am happy with the grades, and thrilled with the service. I revised the look of the pop page for easier viewing here in the thread.

A great sub, I'd say. Congrats! Get the scanner warmed up.

Thanks Bryon. Yes the scanner will be busy because 54 of them are going into my registry set.

Crap Nick, my spot as the 6th current finest T218 set will probably drop a notch - I need to get another submission ready with my raw cards!

Nice job on your sub, including some of those tougher aviator and golfer cards. Interesting though to see only one half grade out of 65 cards. What's up with that??

I don't think I will pass you Scott, but I will definitely pass Levi. My completion percentage will be slightly higher than yours, but your GPA will still be a little higher than mine.

    Nick

Do you think they undergraded them?

That's some super cards - I'm looking forward to the scans.

I'm pretty much out of budget money for a long time unless I sell a few hi end cards that I have no interest in building sets around - so it'll be a while before I show off a T3 for a long time.

    Thanx for sharing.

I'll know better once they are back in hand Mike, but I had my "guesstimate" spread sheet set at 40% 4's (figuring they'd toss a few 3's at me), 40% 5's, and 20% 6's (hoping there would even be a 7 or two).

Cool... very cool, so which ones will you be letting go?

I really like the Jack Johnson cards, all of them. That guy was epic.

Thanks. It's a very attractive set, and I've taken a very fast liking to it. As for the cards that make it into my set, I've been trying to only go with PSA 4 and above, so anything under that won't make the cut. Once I have them all back in hand I will look at the cards and see if any need to be resubmitted, and then go from there.

I don't know what to make of that Scott, and why throw it in there on a lower grade card? To me it makes it seem like they did it just for show.
  • That is an unbelievable turn around time.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Congrats Nick! I love this set, and am glad to see you making such a big dent in it. How close does this get you to completion?
    Looking forward to scans!

I had a bulk order the end of January that still hasn't popped, while I"m glad you got yours I wonder why mine was passed over. Inconsistentcies like this really erode confidence in the brand.

Clearly you trimmed them all and only one got caught.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, and for your words too Lee, no matter how poorly chosen they always seem to be.

Anthony, I will be at 54% (83 cards) once I add 54 of those cards, but then it will be a lot slower for me as I do not have a good supply of raw to pick from for the remaining 46% (80 cards).

Here are a few of the nicer PSA 5's that I thought were going to grade higher:

Beautiful cards. I would've thought the Burke in particular to be a strong candidate for 5.5 at least. PSA grading on cards from this set seems a bit inconsistent to me.

Are there hidden creases on those? They look awful nice for 5's.
  • nam812nam812 Posts: 10,585 ✭✭✭✭✭
No creases, but just like Bryon said, the grading on this set is very inconsistent. Just to confirm this, in the same submission, this card got a PSA 6 with poor centering and stains on both bottom corners:
