1/2 and 8 Reales coins? Need info.....

A friend of mine wants to know if these coins are original and approximate worth.
I did some research and found that the 8 Reales is a bust type milled dollar? The 8 reales weighs dead on what it should, the only problem is that it has a ding on the rim.
The 1/2 reales weighs about what it should also . Thanks for any help.

Here are the stats.
Mexico: 1/2 real, 1739-MF. KM65, .917 silver/.0498 oz. 3rd Edition (2002) cat.= $10 VG, $20 F, $45 VF, $85 XF.
Mexico: 8 reales, 1778-FF. KM106.2, .903 silver/.7858 oz. 3rd Edition (2002) cat.= $25 VG, $45 F, $75 VF, $150 XF.
There is also a 1778/7 overdate listed, which commands no premium- same prices. (Can't tell in your picture, but I don't see an overdate there.) Had it been the 1778-FM, you'd have had yourself a 5-figure coin.
I would call the half-real a VG and the 8-reales a Fine. Both display what I refer to as the "Circulation Cameo" effect (CircCam™), which is a very attractive look in circulated coins. Though low to medium on the grading scale, they are both handsome coins, in my opinion. The small rim hit on the 8R deserves mentioning, if it is in fact a hit and not a cud, but the toning compensates for that.
Nice coins.

It does seem to have some issues at the moment, though. Probably smoething temporary.
Value is really hard to say, because they are in mid-grade condition. The half real is an early date, so it has that going for it, but I don't have my books in front of me, so I can't say right off hand what the rarity or possible variety might be. I do find the dot in the center of the cinquefoil a little odd, but it may be right on this issue.
