Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

50's load is in.

My mailman friend just dropped off the cards to me. I will now go through them and pick out the ones we should get graded.

I'll start scanning them shortly.

1953 Topps and Bowman as well as 1954 Topps and Bowman are in the lot.

Grades range from 6 thru 8 I assume.

Centering is all over the place so I'll cherry only those that have decnt centering first.

I'm going to leave a note for my mailman....you never know
  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Julen, I am referring to the owner of the cards my mailman friend.

ahhh you thought he delivered them as the mailman, NO he is my mailman and these are his cards which he inherited.

The deal is for me to liquidate them for him.

besides being my mailman he is also a friend and was my catcher on a few teams over the yrs.

    Steve

Sorry, but I thought (wrongly) (what else is new) that you would have seen my prior thread about this)
    Good for you.

    holy -ish!

don't say he was your catcher, that sounds perverse!

    Great looking stuff Steve.

It's hard to believe that people still have stuff like that sitting around, when most of us would give a body part for a collection like that.

I'm thinking the majority of the cards are 6's (the kaline a 5) and that is how I'll submit them, if they come back higher it's a bonus.

Of the 200 or so he gave me today I think maybe 10 would get an 8.

He has no idea about any of this as he sent me 6 of one guy 5 of another etc.

The best thing to do is drip and drab thses cards out.

I'll see him tomorrow and ask for some certain commons that I looked up and are low pop. It is a longshot (he has to have the card and it has to be 8 worthy too)

anyways I made up a 20 card order of the really hi dollar cards and we'll see.

When I saw them they were in pages.

His cousin (he died) bought them as a kid, and kept them in a shoe box until the 80's explosion when he got back into cards
    and put them into pages.
