Victoria 1887 Jubilee Crown PCGS MS-64. One of the most difficult coins to photograph that I've ever encountered (these are not my pics). Somewhat darkly toned but with some pretty golden-brown on the obverse and slightly more colorful hues on the reverse. Very lustrous and correctly graded. $260.
Sweden 2Kr 1932, 300th Anniversary - Death of Gustaf II Adolphus, very lustrous NGC MS-64 (couple of minor obverse spots) $25
Baden 1871 Kreuzer commemorating victory over France; Extremely scarce "Offenburg" piece. NGC MS-64 BN (small spot & tiny scratch between the R&I in KRIEG are noted for accuracy) Very attractive & lustrous; Seldom offered. $160
Bremen 1871 Victory (over France) Thaler. NGC MS-64. Certainly much nicer than my terrible pics indicate. It's lustrous, but it lacks the booming luster often seen on these pieces; it has the look of having been dipped. Still, quite attractive. $100

1890-H Ecuador 1/2 centavo, with one side planed smooth and painted with a painstaking scene showing a farmer (?) leading three llamas along a road in front of a mountain. Each llama is 2mm wide, yet there's no question about what is being depicted. I've encluded a huge enlargement, along with smaller images of the obverse and reverse that should appear more or less actual size (22mm), depending on your monitor settings. The painting is signed, and personally I can't make out the signature, but someone said that it's "obviously" the work of Emilio Moncayo (1898-1970). You can decide for yourself, if you think the attribution is important. There is one flake of paint loss in the sky to the right of the mountain. If you look at it quickly it sort of looks like the Sun, but really it's a missing flake of paint. The unpainted side is heavily corroded, which isn't entirely surprising given that this piece has been in contact with who knows what kind of paints for who knows how long. I still think this is an incredibly cool piece, but I can't find a home for it in my collection, so maybe someone else will want it...
$250
This pair of "somethings" display the obverse and reverse designs of the Pistrucci Waterloo medal (more info) (more info).
The entire design is incuse on these items. The outer half-inch is covered with a hard black wax, as is the entire reverse (except where missing or filled in with a lighter reddish wax). The design part is copper, and from the overall weight much be fairly thin. The "rim" (outer half-inch with black wax) is the highest part of the item, with the entire inner surface recessed relative to it.
Total diameter is about 6.5 inches (~165 mm). The design part is roughly 5.5 inches (~140 mm).
In another thread it was suggested that these are "mold galvanos". I'm not entirely convinced that 100% accurate, but I don't have anything better to suggest. I will accept returns (minus postage both ways) if you want to examine them in hand. The pictures should be fairly accurate, tho.
Pricing is tough, given that I admit that I don't know what these are. Stack's sold a "real" Pistrucci Waterloo medal (electrotype, of course) a couple of years ago for $1900. I found a couple of other sales in Europe also in the $1500+ range for a "real" electrotype. These things are probably rarer. That might mean they're more valuable. Or it might not. I'm going to be generous and assume not, but maybe in the same ballpark. So given that, I'll sell the pair for...
$1500

It's a bit too much money for me, particularly for something outside my core areas of focus (your problem, too?), but it is really a neat thing- quite literally a "one of a kind"! Perhaps somebody who is more into the eclectic and curious will grab it. I wonder if you would have more success selling it as a miniature (i.e., as a painting), than as a coin. It might be worth more to a collector of miniature paintings than it would be to a coin collector.
Great "whatzits", too, with all the galloping horses and winged Victories flyin' around.

These are "junk" bags, so to speak, but that does NOT mean the coins are all junky! Basically, this is a way for me to get rid of about a 50-pound overstock, and sell off some of the cheaper coins I do not have time to sell individually. Most of this is my "under-one-dollar" inventory, but as you'll read below, it is sweetened a little with some interesting stuff.
Think of it as "junque", and not "junk". Junque is classier than plain-old junk.
EACH BAG CONTAINS:
* SIX (6) DIFFERENT USA WHEAT CENTS
Most if not all are common coins dating 1934 or later, but the culls and uglies were removed. You should get 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s coins in the bag, and probably an S-mint coin or two. Many bags also contain steel cents. The steel cents are circulated coins that might be a little crusty, but I culled out the really nasty "rust monsters" and awful ones.
* SIX OR MORE (6+) LOOSE WORLD AND/OR US COINS
Mostly world coins. No duplicates. Both old and new coins, freshly picked from my huge bulk bags BEFORE I sorted or attributed anything. You might find obsolete British large pennies, one or two older coins from the 1800s (which tend to be lower grade, naturally), and interesting stuff with a good mix of shapes, sizes, and designs. There is also the occasional US coin like modern cents or nickels cut from mint sets (still in the plastic), and a cull Indian cent or two. There are also some nifty tokens and big, often colorful, Mardi Gras doubloons.
* THREE OR MORE (3+) ATTRIBUTED COINS IN CARDBOARD 2x2 HOLDERS
No duplicates. Mostly world coins like I sell in my 3/$1 bins at the antique mall. The 3/$1 bin is my most popular material, because it is cheap and yet it's in holders, attributed by country, date, and denomination (though not graded). There will be both old and new coins in this mix. Occasionally some of the individual coins may have catalog values of more than $1 apiece- a few $3, $4, $5 coins are in the mix, too. (And one or two problem coins that would have been worth maybe $10-12 or so, without the problem).
PLUS:
EVERY TENTH BAG CONTAINS A SILVER COIN
...as one of its three pieces in the 2x2 holders. Usually these are smaller world silver coins, of course. These will be attributed by country, date, and denomination, and will also be marked with their fineness and silver bullion weight. Can I guarantee you'll get silver if you buy ten bags? No, of course not, though the odds favor it. If you bought ten bags, you might even beat the odds and get two or three with silver in them. Actually, in this first initial batch of 100 bags I made up, I believe there were 12 with silver, so a little more than one in ten have silver. Let's just say one in ten to be conservative.
ONE-TIME $2.00 SHIPPING & HANDLING FEE
I apologize that I can't offer free shipping on these. My standard $2.00 rate applies in this case. Obviously it is not per bag, but per order. I wish you could get them for two bucks and no additional cost, like my local customers will. But since I have to use bubble mailers or boxes to ship them, and they have a little weight to them, I can't do that. So... why would you want to buy a $2.00 "junk bag" and then pay $2.00 for shipping? Good question. BUT, if you order more than one, it averages out a little better.
If you buy some of these bags, I look forward to hearing what you've found. A couple of them stick out in my memory- they were fun to put together.
THINK OF THIS AS A "GAMBLER'S DELIGHT".
But at 13 cents a coin or less, there isn't much gambling involved!
If your $2.00 bag has 15 coins in it (which is the minimum), that works out to only about 13 cents per coin. If you got more than 15 coins in the bag, then your average price per coin is even less. When you see the mixture, I think you will be pleased, and who knows- you may want to come back for more!
These should be fun, particularly for kids or young numismatists, as well as adults.
If they sell well, I might make them a regular staple of my auction offerings.
Happy Hunting!

Maybe those crazy Greeks do it that way, for all I know.
Well, since it's the 17th and now a Monday, I guess that means I get to start the new swap thread.
