Has anyone ever receive the wrong card??

When a seller on Ebay has more than one of the same card?? My situation was that a seller had two of the same 1976 Topps BB cards in PSA 9, but one was 9 (OC). I won the non OC card, but received the OC one in the mail. I sent a message back tonight to the seller to see what was going on, the OC card did not sell so for now I am hoping that it was an honest mistake.

I have once, it was even the wrong sport. The seller later sent the correct card as it was a mistake. I always worry about messing up and doing that.

i won a 69 topps card a long time ago and the seller sent me the same card number, but in 1970 topps. I sent it back and got the right card soon after.

I've done it twice. Once I sent a 1972 Richard Caster insted of a 1972 Raymond Chester (Honest mistake) and another time I taped the shipping labels on to the wrong packages. i sent a triple auto of Eli/Peyton/Archie that I sold for $580 to a guy who had won a $40 card from me and the other guy got the $40 card. I had only one paypal dispute. Nice thing was the other guy was honest when I emailed him and he mailed the card to the other guy for me and I got his card mailed to him from the other guy. I refund the $40 guy his purchase price and gave him a huge thank you! Nice to see there are still some honest people in the world. I was sweating bullets!
  • I won a lot of misc. Dodger cards from a seller that sold pretty much everything under the sun. He sent me one of those daily vitamin holders (the ones that you put in X amount of pills for M, T, W, etc) instead of the cards (WTF?). I emailed him and he said his wife packed up the wrong stuff and told me to keep the holder and sent out the cards priority mail.
  • how about this.... I won a 1961 Topps Willie McCovey.....and in the mail I received an 8 X10 photo of comedian Rober Klein! lol

took 3 weeks for me to get my card ....

I got the wrong card from 4SC once, emailed them, they said they'd look into it. 8 days later I got the right card in the mail and they never asked for the wrong one they sent me. Come to think of it... it was a PSA 9 74 OPC hockey, that has to low pop, hmmm???

I once received a rare astronauts signed item worth about $750.00, when I had only purchased a common autograph worth around $50.00 (and I received my item as well) . I contacted the dealer to send it back to them, and they asked that I send it along to the winner of that item instead. I did, and the dealer didn't even say thank you, or offer to reimburse me for my shipping. That rubbed me the wrong way and I no longer do business with that dealer. I don't have time for people who have a lack of basic common courtesy and appreciation.

I had two guys with almost the same exact ebay id win auctions on the same day.

One was a kobe psa 9 rookie for $15
other 1991?1990? Upperdeck Nolan Ryan Autograph #'d/2500 for $250

Sent both cards to the Kobe guy.. He said he never got it..

I now have the card pictured near my feedback on ebay.

I am 100% sure i sent him the card, he said he got the Kobe but not the ryan..
    Lost $250.

I've sent wrong ones, asked for them back and never heard from the buyer again. Had to eat the other auction since I couldn't produce the evidence, your honor.

I won a card from a seller that also sells coins and old currency. instead of my card I received confederate money.

that was about 2 years ago...now the same seller did it again to me today. this time I got another card instead of the one I won. I know the person whose card I got and him and I are going to switch them ourselves. (seller is refunding shipping on each)

Will Hays did that to me once, I won an SGC 92 and got an 84. They gave me the runaround for about a month and I gave up.

Yep happened to me once too with Will Hays. He sent me a 1966 Topps Bearnarth when i had won the 65.

I emailed them, told them what had happened and I sent it back to them. They then mailed me the correct card.

It also happened with a smaller dealer, he sent me a 65 Rose when I won the 66, I did not realise it at the time and cracked the card
out of its case. I just ate it at that point.

  • I never got the wrong card, and hope to not happen.

I once sent the shipped the wrong items, it was my first and last time doing that, lol. I shipped a 1950's Royal Pussing box with a card on the back side of the box, it was still sealed with a movie star card on it, and the other item was a dvd, and I shipped the wrong item to each person, but I fixed it and put a $10 bill in with the dvd after I got both items back and a $20 bill with the Royal pudding box, so they were very happy and that was over thank God image

A few years ago I bought a '74 Schmidt PSA 8, and the card that arrived was a different 8 than what was pictured in the auction. All 8s are not graded equally, and the one I received was very poorly graded, IMO.

I emailed the seller and told him I wasn't too happy with the card and demanded he refund me immediately, then I'd send the card back. He obliged very readily, which makes me think he was nervous and shipped me the inferior card on purpose and was surprised to get called on it.

i usually try to include a little somethin' somethin' w/ my e-bay orders to remind buyers to leave + feedback. many times they have e-mailed me asking if i sent them somebody else's cards? i kind of laugh to think of people who have bought cards & thought i actually sent them the wrong cards, but never contacted me...

  • I bought a 1985 Fleer Cal Ripken 'In Action' card for about $1 (with shipping), and the seller sent me the regular '85 Fleer Ripken. I already had the regular Ripken, so I emailed him and explained what happened. He told me to keep the regular card and told me he would get the right card out ASAP. About 2 weeks later, with my card not having shown up, I checked on eBay for the 'In Action' card, and low and behold, the seller had put the card up for BIN again.

I emailed him again and asked if he had ever sent the correct card out and told him I would return the other card just to get the one I wanted in the first place. He told me to keep the mistake card again and just refunded my $1. I came out to the good, but I still didn't get the card I wanted.image

While not a card, I did order this shirt only to find they sent me the model instead.

    I named her Carol.

    Best... transaction... EVER!

I have received the wrong cards on several occasions. Most sellers have been very cooperative when I let them know, but one eBay seller ignored me entirely for 2 months and left a retaliatory negative feedback.

I have communicated with the seller and it appears that everything is going to work out ok. Should be receiving the correct card soon.

yes i have gotten the wrong card. the seller actually emailed me before i got it saying that he had heard from the other buyer that he got the wrong card in the mail. i am pleased that that seller did just that as the card he got was worth much more than the one that i did. needless to say all cards ended up the right hands will the seller being 100% honest.

funny this thread is out there now, I recently sold two 1960 Topps Cardinal team cards, both PSA 7 and sent the wrong one out to one of the bidders. I'm in the process right now of trying to get the buyer to forward the card to the correct bidder and I sent the correct card to him also. I've given a discount on the card they won for there time and effort and the postage. I hope this works out....
