So What Does A Penny Buy?

Ok technically these were more than a penny but I won them with my opening bid of 1 cent with $4.00 shipping (which btw they arrived priority and cost the seller $6.95 to send).

Was one of those last second bids but figured what the heck as I don't buy newer cards so could use whatever was in the lot for my Braves collection. Out of the 237 cards there was 10 late 80's/early 90's cards I already had and 42 doubles of the newer stuff so for the cost of a new pack of cards I was able to add 185 different cards to my collection. image

  • You gotta love when that happens. Every once in a while you can find a great steal like that.
  • Not bad, good win there. Is that the pic from the auction, or did you lay those out? I'm just wondering, they look like they're laid out on a table, but who the heck can lay all those out that straight? That must have took some time, lol.

I laid them out on my countertop and it did take a little while to do. image

But that was a good way for me to be sure of what doubles were there.

This is the pic from the auction.

Who was the seller? Seems like an honest guy, most would have come up with an excuse and not sold to you at a loss. I'd like to at least check out his items, and give him the benefit of at least some bids on things I could use!

    I agree 100%.

    Seller is jjjrat.

If you go down the feedback list he sells a lot of these lots at a penny. Don't know how one can do this and make any money as he is not making it on the shipping charges. He doesn't combine shipping but still can't complain about this seller at all.

    Hi Julie. image

I loved your one cent sale as I picked up some great items for my collection. image

This seller just starts all his auctions at a penny and lets them go. Went through a bit of his feedback and many times they sell at the opening bid and no more.

From a collecting stand point, you can't. I was just happy to be able to add these to my collection and the price, well not often you can get this much collecting satisfaction for such a small amount of money. image

Ditto!!! I did pick up a set of 1968 Topps Braves though and got them in the mail today (minus the Hank). Nice cards!!

Team sets were my goal but so much product out there that I basically just pick up odds and ends when I can. Currently these go back to 1954. Only have a few of the 50's and there dogs but I'm not a high grade collector so doesn't matter to me.

I'm sure I have more but I try and get them in order when I buy stuff but that doesn't always happen. image

He is obviously running this little scam to build up his feedback ...

Once he gets to 10,000 he sells a bunch of mickey mantles and disappears..
