I hope he does well. Now that clemen's record is tainted, can we suggest Randy is the best over the last 20 years, figuring in longevity?

<< <i>Either him or Maddux IMO, tough call at his age how he will rebound though. >>
Agree with your nomination for maddux too...
You have to give Randy kudos for going through back surger to try and rebound given his age....He should pass CLemens this season in the career strikeouts, unless clemens comes out of retirement again...
<< <i>I'd vote fore Maddux as the best over the last 20 years. >>
I think they are both great for their own reasons...one being a power dominator, the other being a finesse pitcher. Randy does have more strikeouts and a better win/loss %, and has a much greater hof monitor rating on baseball reference.com. I know the monitor is just a "reference", but real stats were used in calculating that reference. I like Maddux character better though, that is for sure.

Yup.
I am praying for my RJ cards, but some of his personal
life - and the way he has acted toward fans/media - makes
me less than a total admirer.

Well, there's the whole "intentionally tanking half a season in Seattle to force a trade" thing too...
