Largest FLIP I have ever made

I couldn't believe I saw one of these selling currently for over $350 (who knows maybe it will get to $500+?).
All I know is that i paid about $18 for it. I Just listed it and sold it in 5 minutes for $300 BIN (after checking completed many sold for 250-300).
That is a 1500% mark up.

Biggest flip dollar wise I ever made was on a 2001 Ultimate Ichiro RC auto. Paid $1200 right before the all star game.
Then in the all-star game, he went 4 for 4 with the FIRST in the park homerun in an ALL Star Game. It sold for $2500+
Although I made $1300+, it was only a 200% markup.

I still can't believe those tigers that sold previously for $18 to $35 are now fetching $300.

Why is it a $300 card? That is a 1 per box box topper right? I got Sidney Crosby in mine and it looked as though it was a $5 card at the time. I don't get the modern market.

I guess someone that wants to complete the auto set, realizes they won't be able to afford the $9000 tiger auto, and use this as a $300 space filler. At least that was my intention until i decided to dump the set, because many of the autos are impossible....i have seen more tiger autos than some of the others...and rumor has it, that the maddux isn't going to be printed at all. I spent a few thousand in effort of putting together the set, then decided to dump them. Fortunately, I made money on most of them, so i won't complain.

    Giovanni- thanks!

Forget you and your little friends!

I paid what I paid for it, and have the paper of the final sale, so I can youtube it, but then again for what? To prove it to you? Why?

Gio, I am sure that a piece of paper with a number on it would be impossible to recreate and it must be original. Did the seller sign it? I will pay to send it to PSA/DNA and see if it passes.

No, it has not shown up yet. I eagerly meet the mailman at the mailbox everyday just to be let down again. I have mentioned it a time or two on some of his stupid threads and he has never responded. I guess him and his collection manager are too busy grading VG commons and busting 81 Topps wax packs for the huge profit.

    Don't forget cataloguing forged autos.
  • Like I said, forget you and your friends, because all you come here for is to start trouble. I will not waste people's time here by keep going on back and forth with you or your little friends. I have learned that people don't appreciate this back and forth junk, so I will not do it with you or any of the image in your "little" group.

Your negative comments mean nothing to me, so you can keep going with it if you would like, but its not right to any of the board members who come here like I do, for all the positive reasons, and not to deal with image from you or your friends.

They are short printed. They are still very tough to pull from a box.

I work with a guy that said he has about 8 binders of basketball cards from the mid 80's to about 2002 .

He said he will give them to me for 20 bucks each binder , I know absolutely nothing about basketball , but I would think that even for 20 bucks a binder , how could I go wrong ?

Haven't looked at it and he said he would bring them over .

"Edited to add: I love those little gummy hamburgers , I could flip them all day

I just completed my biggest flip (in terms of value, not percentage). I bought a 1961-62 Fleer #58 Clyde Lovellette IA card raw on ebay for $13. I used a free grading voucher to submit it and it came back a 9, and I just sold it as a BIN for $420. Making money is fun.

No offense but I'll take Lothars over yours. Corners are crisper and doesn't have a slight tilt.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

my biggest flip was on a variation of one of the 1952 topps commons. i bought it raw from a dealer and sent it into psa for grading. my total cost was roughly $200 and sold it for $7000 in psa 4. of course, uncle sam got his share of the $6800 profit.
