Landed one of my white whales...

I think this one is a real beauty, the first of my "Big 5" (Aaron, Clemente, Koufax, Mantle & Mays) RCs...

    I want one!
  • Nice card!

The question on the back - they still believed that in 1955. Ans: False
  • Very nice card. Even the back is centered nicely and that is tough to get. Good job.

    Nice card.
Did you read the back? The Dodgers signed him to a huge bonus based on 30 innings of college ball in Ohio. 30 innings? that is probably 4 starts.

    Congratulations paleo!

One of the nicest looking 7s I've seen - good luck on the others.

I guess one of my white whales must be a T3 Cobb in any decent grade - don't hold your breath.

You'll probably pick up a few more before I do.

Thanks guys. I got this card from my favorite shop, but in sort of a round-about fashion. Over the holidays I bought two BVG 7s (a '54 Jackie and a '67 Carew RC) with the assurance that if they didn't cross to PSA 7 he'd take them back for store credit. Well they didn't (the Carew was factory miscut and the Jackie didn't make minimum grade -- you can see them both in this thread). Ironically, my dealer had another PSA 7 Koufax RC when I was there in December but I passed because it wasn't centered well enough. So, for those of you wondering what this card cost me: $650 credit for the two returns plus $225 for a grand total of $875.

That looks like the right price. Didn't that card book for way more at one time?

Does it have a chance at 7.5?
