Metalmike, your favorite seller is back

I wonder why she stopped taking paypal image
Do they even make snap-tight holders anymore?
Isn't she worried that someone will change the typewriter slip
by just opening the snap-tight?

  • Well here's a small benefit to the new feedback system. I can buy cheap cards, graded by fake and foul grading companies (like SCG), just to leave negative feedback to get rid of these scam artists (or at the very least, put a damper on their sales). I say once the feedback system is changed, we group together to take down these sellers. I'd spend $10-20 just to leave a negative for these creeps. Who's in?

    I'm in.

  • Sweet!! Once the feedback thing is started (is that on the 15th?), we'll make a post and get more people on board. As unlikely as it sometimes seems, I really think we could actually make a difference by doing this now, and get rid of some of those shady sellers that cast a shadow on our hobby. Crusaders we will be!!!image

Both of my negatives were removed by ebay because I had "google josefina1747" for details in my feedback. I am not even going to sweat it becuse I am no longer a seller there anymore.............How does someone set up a hidden account? lol.

When you get caught and Ebay suspends all your accounts for auction interference don't say you were not warned.

I am all for being a Pirate Buster, but it has to be done in a clandestine
fashion and should NEVER be discussed openly.

PBs will need some throw-away accounts, and a proxy-server or an
online "anonymizer." You WILL lose all of your accounts, as noted
above, if you use your regular IP-addy.

I dont see why you would necessarily lose your accounts for leaving negative feedback for this slime

If you fully pay for something that the seller claims is legit and it turns out to be a fake or the claims made in the listing are fraudulent how are you doing anything against ebay's rules by leaving appropriate feedback. How can it be auction interference if someone legitimately wins an auction?

I think what metalmike has done here to shut this person down is great. Too many people who know about card scam artists refuse to do anything- its nice to see people taking a stand. Im willing to donate some money for the crusade

The final written version of the TOS on the subject has not been published yet.

BUT, at the press-conference the looney lady said that "buyers who buy something
for the sole purpose of leaving negative FB will be TOSd."

  • If you buy it and pay for it it is all fine. However bidding with no intentions of buying just the intent of negative leaving feedback is a severe Ebay violation that usually results in a NARU. Also when the seller files a UPI and closes it and this gets the "buyer" NARU'ed all feedback left is removed anyway.

I just assumed that the intention was always to pay (obviously buying without any plans to pay will get you booted quickly) - at least her junk always seems to sell for low amounts

Im really surprised that ebay would actually have to specify that people cant pay for something just to leave negative feedback- I never realized that it was such a problem. I guess theres a lot of angry buyers out there image

I bid on the 2 cards and did not pay due to googling the seller and finding out they were scamsters. I asked them to please file an agreement not to complete this transaction and they told me to pound sand, so I am. Leiascards why are you a ebay lover? HOW MUCH STOCK DO YOU OWN? image

To be clear, I have the full intention of paying for the item. Like I said, I don't have a problem paying $10-20 for an item (along with a bunch of you if possible) for the sole purpose of giving a detailed negative and taking down these sellers of overgraded cards graded by themselves and passed off as a ligitimate grading company. I don't know how you feel about these fools, but I am welcoming the chance to take some of these sellers down. I find it to be a very dishonest practice. And I know that buyers should do research before they buy, but the fact is that some of the buyers could be younger kids or people who don't know any better (maybe buying for their kids). Or someone just getting into the hobby. I feel that these people cast a horrible shadow on the hobby and if there's something that I can do to combat it, I'm going to.

  • Also, I know this shouldn't be discussed in detail on an open forum so after we get a decent list of "crusaders" we'll do the pm thing, or email. Anyways, I'm not planning on buying something and then leaving some angry negative feedback that would draw attention to myself. Only that the card was overgraded by a "non-professional" grading service (which I will know even before I bid and win an item). As much as the TOS should protect sellers, it shouldn't protect these shady rip-off artists.

I guess I would have to question anyone who thinks it's o.k. that these people do this, and would be against someone else trying to do something about it.

P.S. I haven't done anything like this ever before, so don't go reporting me to ebay for something I haven't done. Weird that I feel I have to defend my idea here.

  • Haha, I thought this thread went poof, but I was on page two of the forums, lol. Hey, now that I think about and read my posts, this isn't really a good moral way to combat shady sellers. It was just an idea, but now that I think about it, it really wouldn't make me any better than the seller using this method. Sorry fellas!!!
