What would you purchase for $1500 on Ebay. It can not be more than one seperate transaction. If the transaction is less than $1500 the balance left over is forfeited. Would you buy gold, silver, or platinum. Would you find a coin that you could turn around and sell promptly....


I have included Russ in the title because I recall reading awhile back that if you include Russ in the title of your thread it will generate more responses.

I picked up a PCGS 1952 PR68 Cam Wahington a little over a year ago for $1,200. I just threw out a bid with 2 min left and nobody overbid me!!

Would have gladly paid $1,500 for it.

A little less than $1,500 is actually the most I've ever spent on Ebay...and it was for a 1773 Virginia Halfpenny PCGS MS64 RB I bought 4-5 years ago. It was the first large purchase I made after getting back into collecting as an adult.

Now, I would not even consider spending that much money on Ebay. Even if a reputable dealer was selling the kinds of coins I like on Ebay, I'd contact the dealer directly.

I just bought it 2-3 weeks ago on ebay for $1450 and was willing to go a bit higher too. A 1935 PDS PCGS 66 Arkansas set, nice orig matched set with good eye appeal. While commems are cold, it seemed like a good value.
