Rough cut 1961s... PSA 10 ??

I have a pic from an auction last year showing a PSA 10 Jerry West. I was amazed to see it had a grade of 10 because of the heavy rough cut of the right border. Obviously if grade 10 means perfection, then rough cut can be no factor in grading whatsoever. I guess rough cut must be viewed as something of a "badge of honor" in these days of hi tech trimming, doctoring etc... Any comments?

A rough cut is a sign of mintness.
Handled cards loose their rough cuts and their edges become more smooth.

They used to bother me, but now that I think of them in that way, I actually kind of like them.

Also by PSA standards, a PSA 10 does not mean perfection.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
