Ebay seller pet peeves...

At VCP we go through every listing on eBay to verify the auctions and there are a few things that just urk the HECK out of me.

1. Why is it when ever a person lists a BVG 1 card they say PSA 2 or 3, do they think BVG has a tougher grading standard?
If they want to say PSA then they should get it graded by them.

2.Sellers that state the SMR value for a PSA 9 card but are selling a PSA 1, why bother?

3. If you put a Image that you can click to see a larger scan make sure you do it right. So many times you hit the image and
get the same size. They are paying extra money for it so do it right.

I have a few more but these really stand out for me..

Fixed the problem....sorry

We don't use the word "hell" in this forum. It's either "heck" or "H-E-double hockey sticks". Hades would also be acceptable.

  • You've hit on a couple of my pet peeves of sellers for sure. I despise when they list a grading company in the auction title other than the company that it's actually graded by. And the "book value" thing bothers me too. I've seen horrible condition raw cards with the "$2000 beckett value" b.s. When I list something I include only the actual info like; year, issue, player, card#, and grade. I think only somewhat shady sellers would list all those little "white lies."

I just took a negative from a seller who feels that the rule that if you accept PayPal you have to take credit card purchases doesn't apply to him.

He says that he clearly stated in his invoice that he does not take credit card payments.

I told him to kiss his account goodbye.

EBAY and PP will and SHOULD nail him.

If you call T&S, and convince them the NEG was given for the reason you stated, they will remove it.

When the neglect to mention qualifiers in the description.

total waste of time to click on a card you think is psa 9, scroll down and see its OC.

That irks the H E double hockey sticks out of me (for CD) image

Not so much lately but I've seen where a seller puts a scan of a nice looking card and then mentions in the small print that the card shown is not the actual card.

I agree with the complaints about the seller forgetting the qualifier.

There's one seller that drives me nuts by listing that the card is NM 7 or 8 and it turns out to be raw. The 8 catches my eye, then I click and see who the seller is and click the back arrow.

One of my biggest is the good ole "PSA 9 10 ?" at the end of a title for raw cards. There is one seller who does this regularly and I've reported him multiple times for keyword spamming, but he's never had one of the auctions I reported pulled. I bought a 1979 Topps Paul Molitor from him that he had that in the title for. I won't even submit it. I don't need a 6.5!
  • Got an item in the mail today with a note that said "please leave me positive feedback and after you do, I will leave feedback for you" I am the buyer, why can't you leave me feedback when I paid?
