Ripken Jr. autograph on special official Ripken ball

I received a gift of a Cal Ripken Jr. autographed baseball. The ball is a special ball with his Jersey #8, the Orioles logo, Ripken's name above the jersey # and 2130 on one side of logo and 2131 on the other side. The seams are orange as well. It's an official Rawlings American League ball with the AL president's signature. Supposedly they used these balls during the season he broke the record.

Does anyone know whether or not these balls were really used in games? Also, do you think this ball would be more valuable autographed than a regular AL baseball? The ball was originally purchased by a company called "The Score Board" It came with their COA. Are they a reputable company?

  • Thanks Ironmanfan! It's good to know that the person who bought it for me didn't get ripped off. It's a pretty signature right on the sweet spot.
