  • We had a tornado here in Wisconsin...in January. That's unheard of. It's been a record year for snow fall and cold temps too. Sucks bad!!! Can I live with one of you who lives in a warm climate for next winter, lol.

Got about an inch of snow in Dallas last night if you can believe that! Supposed to be 60 today, so I guess it won't stay around long. The drive to work sure was an hour and a half of non-stop fun.

HA! An inch of Snow! You southerners have no idea about REAL SNOW!! Try spending a Winter in New England and you would laugh at an inch of snow!

    Good day,
Most of you have no idea what crazy weather is, Sat. Afternoon 67 degrees at my House, by Sunday morning we had officially 14 inches of snow, actually at my house closer to 16. High on Sunday 26 degrees. More snow today, and tomorrow. by Sat back in the 60's. The best time of year here in the Rockies (Not counting Summer of course), Snows like Hell and then it's beautiful. Finally after the most Snow in about 12-15 years for our Winter we are starting to see a normalized pre Spring into Spring.......!!!
Come on Summer...Almost broke out the Harley Sat afternoon !!!

Lived in KC for 25 years, so maybe not quite New England but saw plenty of snow, that's for sure. However, when in comes to driving, and inch of snow in Dallas is much, much, much worse than 15 inches of snow in KC! An inch of snow here and cars are flying off the freeway, flipping upside down, spinning out of control, etc!

I agree. I live in KC as well and most of the people here can't drive for crap if we get any kind of bad weather.

I lived in California for about a year and a half in 1986-87. Was driving from where I lived which was in Merced, right in the middle of the state to the LA area. Started snowing in the mountains north of LA, they call it the Grapevine freeway there on Highway 5. Anyway, being from Michigan it was no big deal to me, but man the natives did not know how to deal with it.

So true Sting. I have gotten caught there a couple times in my life as they will close the Grapevine with a dusting of snow and then you have to drive all the way over to highway 101 which adds about 90 minutes to the trip. Very few people down there have driven in snow so they close it down without any major weather. Basically a guy from Michigan wouldn't even think twice about driving over the road, at full speed... and probably with the top down on the convertible! In Cali they just close the road!

Ironically, I haven't heard anything about global warming lately. I wonder why not.

    Good Day,
Was going over the Grapevine coming from LA to Bakersfield way back in the 1980's one time. I was on a Honda 750 Full Dresser and it was late at night and the wind was blowing like all get out, anyway I get near the top and I'm in one of the middle lanes and a major gust of wind came up and picked the Bike and me up and set it down one lane over, perfect, didn't even lean, just moved it 10-12 feet sideways. A couple of hundred yards up the road was the gas Station at the top, I pulled over, changed my draws and sat for a couple of hours while the shakes went away. So they do get some hairy winds through there. Been there, done that.....

Northeast Texas is home to the crazy weather. Monday morning we were dodging tornadoes in 70 degree weather, by monday evening the temp had fallen into the mid 30s. We had 3 inches of snow here on the ground this morning.

I remember a couple of years ago it was 80 degrees on February 13th. Feb 14th we had 13 inches of snow on the ground. The 15th it was 75 degrees outside.

You know why southerners don't shovel snow? Because it will be gone by noon.
  • It ended up not raining at all over here Matt. What about you guys? We hosted a track meet today and it looked like it was going to rain but never did. I kinda wish it did though, since I had one of my worst 400 races ever image Oh well, at least I did well in the 800 and the team won the overall meet for boys and girls...

Here's how close me and Matt actually are... 2 hours and 45 minutes when the Gootist is driving, I've heard upwards of 3 hours at 15 minutes from some before though image

Back around 1997 or so while I was stationed in Colorado Springs, I was driving to work in the snow, in the middle lane of three heading south. The car in front of me did a complete 360...cars all around...never touched any other cars; just did the 360 and kept on going like nothing ever happenedimage
