For seven years I thought I was the only crazy person out there collecting Heritage and viewing the release date as a sort of "second Christmas". It's nice to know there are more of you out there. For the last few years I have bought two hobby cases per year, but this year the IRS has decided it knows better than I how to spend my money, so no go.
I don't know the protocol for introducing topics, so forgive me:
a) Aren't there four variations? Smoltz, Santana, Wright, and Encarnacion (Edwin on Juan's card).
b) I bought the four retail boxes that were listed on eBay (take that, IRS) which caused some confusion among members - were they Topps Series I or Heritage? The seller assures me that they are Heritage; we'll see.
c) I see that many people are trying to complete previous year's sets. I have four monster boxes of mostly commons but also some inserts and sp's from 2001 on. Since the IRS wants my money by April 15, I'd rather sell than trade, but, again, I don't know the protocol. Is it considered rude to say I want to sell, not trade? I have sold on eBay before, as bjbrall4, and have some 2008 Topps currently up for auction.

<< <i>perkdog is right, that heritage thread is hardcore. I don't even understand most of what they write. I do know its a good thing when they "pull ink". >>
Unlike a squid that "squirts ink"
<< <i>I still cannot figure out how to enter the 2008 Heritage thread. Once a thread is created, can you only enter it by responding to another previous entry? Neither the "Help" section nor the Webmaster have been any help, so I thought maybe the people who use the thread could help me out. >>
Welcome.
After responding to a thread, I just "back arrow" until I see the main menu of threads listed - press on a particular thread - if there's multiple pages and ya don't want to read all of them, just go to the last page of that thread.
It sounds like you're just gonna have to play with it for a bit to get the feel of how to navigate.
Well - good luck with the retail you picked up.
I'm a vintage collector but also collect some modern - I used to do a Topps base brand set every year but now only do the Heritage set - I've been collecting heritage since 2001.
