<< <i>Good thing you guys got Samual....Cowboys with TO and Moss at wideout. Talk about super freaky >>
Gonna be two great games this year against the Cowboys - I'm looking forward to it already.
<< <i>Stone cold mortal lock signing - just a question of when. >>
Kiss of death.
IF he signs with the Eagles, I fully expect him to perform like his OAK days.
Shame on you, stevek...
Shame. On. You.
Id take any usable offensive force in a HEARTBEAT.
the NFC east will be MASSIVELY interesting!
Cowboys ROCK, Giants ROCK, Eagles will ROCK. Redskins KINDA ROCK.

I'd close my eyes and do Rosie O'Donnell if it meant a Super Bowl win. LOL

I'm getting MY hopes up. Eagles need a wide receiver such as him, Eagles have the money, Eagles have the motivation, McNabb coming back healthy this season and the Eagles want to make the most of it, Eagles owner and coach quite hungry for a Super Bowl win...players as well.
Moss would probably love to play with McNabb and Philadelphia would warmly welcome Moss the way we did for TO before TO turned into a stupid jackass wanting to renegotiate a signed contract which was already a great contract.
"Everybody" thinks the Eagles won't sign Moss because of the TO problem...well let's not forget that TO helped the Eagles get into the Super Bowl and Moss would help the Eagles get into this coming Super Bowl and I believe win it this time.
All the signs are there - Randy Moss WILL be in an Eagles uniform this coming season. I guarantee it!
<< <i>Moss probably will not sign with the Patriots. I thought that the minute he was traded from the Raiders to th Pats. Problem is, the Pats probably won't give him anywhere close to the money he could get on the free market and Moss doesn't strike me as the kind of guy willing to take THAT much less than he's "worth". The Eagles seem like an ideal situation for him. A solid team that he could continue to succeed with. While he would clearly improve the team, he has motivational issues that may lead him to become grossly overpaid regardless of who he winds up signing with. >>
Valid point. Herb Brooks once commented early on towards some critisicm of his assembling his eventual Olympic Gold Medal hockey team, in which some of the "best" hockey players in the country were left off the team...Brooks said (paraphrase) "I don't want the best players, I want the right players." Whether Moss is a "right player" or not for the Eagles only time will tell if they sign him, but I think considering the talent he still has, that Moss is well worth taking a shot, even for a lot of money...and hopefully he'll turn out to be a right player.
<< <i>I read today that the Jets have him on their radar, and man do they need a playmaker. >>
If they get him they would then need someone to get him the ball. Recipe for disaster if he went to the Jets IMO..
Aside from all this chit chat about Randy, I believe he will say in New England! :crossing fingers:
The Eagles have leverage signing Samuel (huge signing) and really are poised to have an outstanding team next year.

GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Moss is a malcontent whining jerk anyway. Players such as that really don't belong in an Eagles uniform.
And I dont buy it for one second that you wouldnt be jumping for joy if Randy signed with you guys!
<< <i>Yea they really took good care of Concrete Charlie huh? They couldnt give the poor guy like $1500 for his book he wanted to give the players.
And I dont buy it for one second that you wouldnt be jumping for joy if Randy signed with you guys! >>
You're right - I admit it. But deep down inside I'd rather win without a POS like Moss than with him.
And you're only partially right about Bednarik. Yes, the previous Eagles owner before Lurie was a jackass, but Lurie has made a number of overtures to Bednarik, but Bednarik has refused to accept the overtures for a variety of reasons. If you knew the whole story, you would find Bednarik's recent refusals to be puzzling - probably too much stubborn pride on his part.
But you're implication is correct - the old NFL vets aren't taken care of nearly as well as they should be and that includes most if not all NFL teams guilty of that - I think that's beginning to change but it should be happening faster than it is.

Yea, I dont really know the whole story behind the Bednarik situation but I hope your right about the NFL taking better care of the old timers. And I agree all teams are just as guilty.

In a nutshell - Bednarik has been offered a number of olive branches and amenities, and other things as well but refuses basically everything. Chuck is a "hardhead" no doubt about it but in all fairness, he has a right to be angry. I'm not up to speed on everything the NFL is doing to take care of it's older veterans especially veterans from the 40's and 50's, but whatever the NFL is doing, it should be doing better considering all the money the NFL is making today.

Tough to predict what a guy like Moss will do - a few Patriots losses early in the season, and Moss with his millions in the bank, he could conceivably go in the tank.
<< <i>PS: With the Patriots keeping Moss, I've revised my Patriots forecast from going 8 - 8 to going perhaps 9 - 7 or 10 - 6. I think staying in New England will make Moss complacent and he'll windup a stiff this upcoming season. Wishful thinking? - Perhaps. LOL.

Aside from your "Wishfull thinking and your 8-8 or 9-7 nonsense ( ) I cant say I completely disagree with you about Moss POSSIBLY tanking it- there is always that possibility with him, I would like to believe that he has matured and realizes his chances of a Super Bowl are better than average with him continuing to work well with Brady and Co. Hopefully the Super Bowl put a bad taste in his mouth and he wants another shot at it before his career is over.

Well if anyone can keep Moss motivated, certainly it's Belichick, who without a doubt is a football genius and that's not even remotely debatable. Still it's gonna be tough to overcome that Super Bowl loser's jinx which was discussed in another thread. Those players simply have to have a letdown after coming so close to an undefeated season - it wore them out, Belichick wore them out from playing them too much, plus the strain of playing 19 games is just going to be too much to overcome this upcoming season versus other good AFC teams. They're not going to beat most of the good teams this year...yes, they'll still beat teams like the Dolphins - LOL.
Frankly, if you were to put Belichick on a lie detector machine, and ask him "Should the Patriots let Moss go?"...I think he would answer "Yes" to that considering the difficulties of trying to get back to the Super Bowl this upcoming season. That's why I really thought the Patriots weren't going to sign him and he would have possibly been a good one season fit for the Eagles.
Oh well...one thing for sure, as always it will be an interesting great NFL season and I'm already looking forward to it.

if he had signed with philly wouldnt he have actually classed up the joint? it is philly after all.
<< <i>"I don't really want low class scum like Randy Moss on my team anyway"

Our town has its faults, but there is no classier NFL franchise than the Philadelphia Eagles...perhaps some equal it but none surpass it.
For example the Eagles were one of the first NFL teams to get actively involved in charities before it became popular with other NFL teams, and the Eagles are still in the forefront of charity work.
And go ahead...name one, just one Eagles player who has been in trouble with the law in many years, or who has even embarrassed themselves in off field behavior. Even TO who was with the team just a year and a half and released, was an idiot, but never in trouble with the law, barroom fights, drugs, stuff like that.
So go ahead with your examples of the Philadelphia Eagles not being a classy team. And I'm talking recent history, not the "distant" past of the Buddy Ryan days. Come on...we're waiting for your examples regarding your asinine comment....
