Derek Anderson stays with the Browns

$24 million for 3 years with $13 million guaranteed money. The Browns and his agent had been working on this for weeks and he
was briefly a free agent just after midnight Friday when they finally reached a deal.

The Browns would have been crazy to let him go.

Whats up with the Mighty Quin situation now?

I think they want to keep him but I would suspect he is rather discouraged right now.

funny to read this, I made out the check this morning for my season tickets....to be honest I kind of wished he had gone the free agent route to see if the Browns would have matched any offers.....Having seen him play last year I'm still not sold on him as the future for the Browns. Seems like every good thing he did was matched by something silly...especially towards the end of the season when he should have been stepping up his game

If Trent Dilfer is a SuperBowl winning QB, then anyone can do it! image

Agreed. I think what he might be saying is it will take the Browns too long to build a team around him-longer than his contract?

I think Anderson is going to prove to be a One Year Wonder.

He played well most of last year but threw WAY too many interceptions.

This is Brady Quinn insurance, in case Quinn is a bust or he gets hurt. I don't get those who criticize this deal........a lot of NFL teams don't have one decent QB. The Browns now have two, and if one turns into a star the other will be nice trade bait.
