What does this defect appear to be to you?

If you feel compelled to throw a grade out as well I would be interested.

    Looks like some sort of die crack. Also looks about MS63PL.

    Yes, does look struck through. Take a look at the O in Dollar on the reverse. Another struck through thread?
    Maybe these dies just got the repolish and wipe down thus leaving the rag threads. That would account
    for the PL surfaces as well.

    It looks raised in the photo, and if it is, it can't be a struck-thru. Looks more like a die crack or scratch...it may be a VAM, but I didn't see it on VAMWorld. That doesn't mean it isn't there...it may be that the scratch or crack is a die marker for a VAM...

    If it's raised it's not struck through. I'd say a very nice die crack. Here's a pic of a ST wire. As for the grade, I'd go 65. The strike is real good...
