2006 P Reverse Proof ASE with Rotated Dies

I had 20 of my unopened ASE Anniversary sets graded by PCGS. The grades were not great although I did get 3 Reverse Proofs in PR70.

As I was checking them out I noticed that 3 of the Reverse Proofs had a rotated reverse die. The rotation is not huge but not slight either. It is probably 12-13 degrees.

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this happening with the Reverse Proofs and what people think they are worth. They are not the PR70's.

How about some pics. I have no idea of the value but sounds pretty cool.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

3 70's on the reverse proofs. I think you did quite well!

Even in 69 these sets are still doing well.

Yes there was a few threads on this a year ago where people were claiming rotated dies. Not sure where that ended up though. It might take a few minutes but try doing a search for ASE and rotated or some similar key words.
  • There were quite a few with slightly rotated dies. Unless it is more than 20% I believe it is considered within Mint tolerance.

  • I Had several, But Most were Clockwise. I Had ONE that Rotated Counter Clockwise and Even Though i Did'nt Think it Had Enough Rotation, I Sent it To PCGS Anyway. It was A Costly Lesson as they Determined The Rotation was Not Enough To Qualify For The Designation. It's An Anniversary Reverse Proof in PCGS PR69. I'll try to Find The Link i had To Show the Die Rotation Patterns and Minimum Requirements and Post it Back Here. Ray in Florida.

the one that was rotated counter-clockwise was probably 340 degrees!

that is a cool one as all the slighlty rotated ones i have seen have been clockwise.

i had 30 sets graded awhile back and had 4 PR70's one PR70DCAM and one MS70
