The nickel today is not what it was fifteen years ago. Do you know what this country needs today?...
A seven-cent nickel. Yessiree, we've been using the five-cent nickel in this country since 1492. Now
that's pretty near a hundred years' daylight saving. Now, why not give the seven-cent nickel a chance?
If that works out, next year we could have an eight-cent nickel. Think what that would mean. You could
go to a newsstand, buy a three-cent newspaper and get the same nickel back again. One nickel carefully
used would last a family a lifetime!

<< <i>Why is that a concern? >>
These base metal concerns directly effect our daily needs. The appliances that we purchase the plumbing in our homes and the vehicles we drive. When was the last time you went into your local hardware store to buy areplacement plumbing supply. The price of copper to replace or repair items are going higher.New construction materials are soaring.
The cost of steel and metals to build an auto or truck are outrageous....
Base metals are more needed than just that ounce of gold in a plastic slab.....

It wont' be long before they have to make the dime worth 5C and the Nickel worth 10C in transactions.
It's cool having usable money where the intrinsic value is all there. Just like the old silver coins.

Or maybe make a 3 cent piece to add to to it until the newer updated stuff comes out.
Really tho, this is a concern -- what do you think will come of it all? They can't just keep and spending and losing money .... oh that's right, that's what they do anyway!~
<< <i>Maybe the mint should make the nickel like the USPS did stamps
