Just got silvered at my bank 10 minutes ago!

Woohoo!

Young teller - saw a silver half in her little coin tray on the counter next to her. Asked her if I could buy it - 1966!! She was clueless when I told her it was 40% silver - kind of a blank stare like I was speaking Greek - maybe she doesn't know waht silver is!

It's amazing that Silver coins can still be found in circulation.

It seems when the price of gas/ heating oil goes up " I " find more old coins in circulation? It must be very hard on people with fixed incomes. ( uneducated guess )

Haven't gotten any silver in change in a long time, but have noticed a lot of older clad quarters showing up recently for some reason.
In the last few weeks have gotten a bunch of Washington quarters from 1965,66,68,69,72.
Seems weird that they showed up all of a sudden.

It sure is , that's why I keep working at 68 years old. I don't want to wind up as a Walmart greeter in a few years.
  • I managed to snatch a 64 Kennedy a few weeks ago and I picked up a $500 box today. Just opened the first roll a few minutes ago..............

nada! Had to promise the bank I wouldn't bring them back.

  • I was recently at the bank and noticed a 1964 silver Kennedy in her tray.I bought it.
It was nicely toned in something like XF .
First time I got one in circulation, didnt think there were any left.

Don't you think it's strange that people that work in banks don;t seem to know anything about silver coins and their value.?

After all they stick out like a sore thumb when mixed in with modern coinage.
