PSA/DNA question

Hey All,

I was thinking of getting THIS and cutting the signature out, then submitting to PSA/DNA for a cut sig slab.

I suspect this will go for a bit less than other Teddy autos becuase it's not a Sox item, that's why I've selected this one.

And yeah, I know you guys dont like cutting up photos for cut sigs, but I dont want Teddy's Rangers photo, just the sig (which sells for a lot by itself)

1) If I cut it out, and want to submit it, does my PSA Collectors Club allow me to submit to DNA for slabbing?
2) Can I request exactly how I want it slabbed? (I want it upright in the slab, not side-to-side like most cut sigs)

Thanks for all that can help.

  • Thats a great looking auto!

I would buy that and get that guy who makes those great cut cards to make a card out of this one, can't remember is name but i've seen some of the cards he makes, and there great!

I think your PSA membership allows you to submitt to PSADNA too, not positive. But I definetly think they could put it in the holder for you anyway you want, all you gotta do is mention it on the submission form.

Good luck with that auto, its very sweet! image

  • Thanks Gio.

Yeah, this is a very attractive auto. I'm all about it actually.

And I think the board member you're referring to is Knuckles, but he charges like $100.00 per card and I'm really only looking for the plain-ole cut sig. Dont get me wrong, he does INCREDIBLE work, it's jut not something I'd be interested in doing with this particular item.

And I didnt know there was a spot where you can write in how you want it justified in the slab thanks.

I just need to know if my PSA membership also lets me to submit to DNA.

    Thanks all!

I would call customer service. I'll pm you the guy's name and ext. that you should talk to
  • The dimensions of your cut will determine how they place it. Can you cut it in such a way to allow for horizontal placement?

Actually, now that I think about it, this is an 8X10, so it'll probably be too wide to fit in a standard slab...

I guess I could do horizontally... Vertical would have been better for this application.

And Matt, thanks for the help dude.

I don't know what this will end at but wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a signed 3x5" ?

  • No no, they don't have a spot were you can right it in, but you can write in the re remaining space under were you list all your card. You know were you list each card and sport and so on? There, and just write what you want done, thats what they told me to do when I called PSA.

I mostly have horizontal auto cards, so when I submitted 2 times with PSA, they told me to write it in at the botton were theres space left over. I submitted my first free 6 cards, but they sent 2 back because they couldn't grade them, so when I resubmitted another 2 cards, again I wrote in the extra space below the first couple of lines and they encapsulated all my cards that were horizontal the way I wanted image

    Good luck!

You don't need a membership to submit to PSADNA.

Like was said above, how they slab depends mostly on how you cut it out. I would suggest you cut it out and glue it to a vertical 3x5. Because you also don't want a small 2x3 (or whatever) cut floating free in the slab.

    These routinely sell for $125 - $180

I suspect this photo will be less because it's not a Sox item.

  • Make sure that "T" from his het dosen't get in there! image

It wont be. The cut will look "something" like this...

Very good call! I will DEFINITELY do this.

  • Also I think that if you buy blue index cards such as the pic below, and glue the cut to a index card that matches the color of the paper that the sig is on It will blend better and the sig will stand out . In other words the colors wont clash and it will have a cleaner look. just my opinion.
