Ever spent a quiet evening with a old coin catalog?

Just spent the evening relaxing in the Jacuzzi with a recent acquisition, the Clifford Catalog from Bowers, March 1982.
Some great territorials in there, one in particular selling for $1700 then, recently reselling for $150,000. The breadth of his collection was truly amazing.
Bought about 15 other catalogs too - looks like I'll be soaking in the tub alot in the weeks to come.

"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal.

Nah, never!

However, I don't just spend the evening doing it, I spend the early morning, late morning, mid-day, afternoon, dinnertime, etc.
Oh yeah, I regularly check the "old" coin catalogues back in the 19th century, not this "modern crap" from the last 50 years.
Not to hard on the knee or the nerves.
I like the old Max B. Mehl catalogs. I have been lucky to find afew at the shows I have gone to. The old stuff is just so cool to me.

Indeed. When I was a kid I drooled over the coins that I could't have in the "bluebook". Now I sit and drool over the coins that I can't have in the nice auction catalogues. Ah, good times, good times.
At the time I thought the prices realized were so ridiculous...

Mine are 6, 4, and 3, so I totally agree that there is no such thing as a quiet evening.
