Ebay Question

I just sold a RP Eagle on Ebay. I put in the Auction only ship to the U.S. Someone from Canada bid on it and won. Am I required to sell this to him or her?

Comments

  • No, he is an unwelcome bidder since you stated you only ship to the US. You can automatically retrict buyers registered in countries which you don't ship to from bidding on your auctions from the selling prefrences under your account.

So how do I cancel the whole thing and offer it to the next guy? Sorry first time selling
  • You will have to file for a mutual agreement to not complete the transaction. If he accepts, you will recover your FVF and can make a second chance offer to another bidder. Just makes sure he is willing to accept not completing the transaction before you file for the mutual agreement since if he tells eBay he wants to complete the transaction you won't get your FVF back.

I agree with FLBH, but ebay might consider that misleading conduct. If you would have deselected the international bidders section of the listing, I am pretty sure it would have automatically blocked anyone outside of the US from bidding.

For example, recently I had an auction that I said I would only take a money order or personal check because of the value but I did not uncheck paypal. I contacted the winner and said, mail me a check, he said no. I contacted eBay and they said that I can not state in my auction one thing and offer the service. I had to suck up the PayPal fees on that one.

    Good luck.

I though I did deselect international. It says ships to United States. Nothing else

Save on shipping. This seller offers shipping discounts on combined purchases.

    Ships to
    United States

    Thats what is says

Just tell the buyer that you only ship to the US. Since you put it in the auction I don't think eBay will have a problem with it.

Not in the listing, but in your preferances as stated by FLBH, you can block any bids from outside the USA by preapproving/blocking bidders .

  • Just curious, most of us ship to Canada. Is there a reason you wouldn't want to ship it there?

ask for his US shipping address (or agent in US)

the guy must have been surfing in eBay USA not eBay.CA (because your auction should not have been seen there)

    What's the big deal?
Tell him to pay in funds on a US bank and tell him he has to pay the additional fee for registered mail to Canada. You'll be fine.

No, most of us do not ship to Canada. I've had 3 bad experiences and will NOT ship outside the USA.
