<< <i>Sheet prices for original Barber halves are worthless >>
I disagree. Although some dealers understand the nuances of this series, many of them are simply clueless about the prices that original examples command. When I used to sell on Ebay, I always knew I could make a nice profit buying an original Barber Half from any dealer at a local monthly coin show because they simply went by the Greysheet when quoting me their best price.
On the other hand, when bidding against other knowledgable (and aggressive) bidders in an auction format like Ebay, then the Greysheet prices are relevant only to see what the final winning bid is going to be ABOVE.
I see your point re: local dealers who have original halves - however - I'm not as fortunate to have the luxury of a decent coin show in my area [ the last two were cancelled ] .
My comments were really from personal experience on eBay - or my favorite coin dealers on line.

Nice, original VF+ Barber Halves are a great hunting ground for collectors when trading with dealers who live and die by the sheet.
