Sure, why not believe a seller with 97.3% feedback?
Take a look at this idiotic auction. The scan is cropped. It is actually from either an SGC or GAI holder. This guy probably doesn't even have this card. Why would people be so gullible as to bid on this idiots auction?

I think it may be a highjacked account.
In any event I would not bid on this card.
The 'seller' claims it is in good condition, the card shown looks
much nicer.

<< <i>I wasn't banned from eBay. It is not my fault you are not a believer >>
If all it takes is belief then I my Ruth signed balls I just made are gonna make me rich!
That said I think it may be a hijacked account as well.
<< <i> can't see the problem. Other than he occasionally ships defective merchandise, or fails to send anything at all, sells fake autographs and has a bad attitude when his customers are upset. >>

<< <i>Why will everybody's drop? >>
More buyers will leave bad feedback because they're no longer in fear of retaliation.

So, seller's won't be able to leave negative's for buyers? What is the seller's course of action, then?
Shane
The % will also be a rolling total for only 12 months so if you have over 600FB but only sell 50 items a year and some reason get 2 negs it would not hurt you with 600, but with 50 as the base you are looking at a 96%.

And what is their reasoning behind this?
Why can't they leave "well enough" alone?

I cannot believe you have not heard about this already.. It was a hotbed for about 2 weeks. It has cooled off some but still some complaining as sellers figure out what to do.
<< <i>Because you will have buyers leaving negs where they would not today. Items that are shipped 2 days after payment some buyers will leave the sellers a neg without fear. A raw card you describe as excellent, but the buyer was still for some reason expecting a near mint card will leave a neg without fear. If you charge 3.00 to ship an itme that cost 2.00 to ship a buyer will be able to leave a neg without fear.

If Sellers are concerned about their feedback, then they need to improve their customer service.
1) Accurately describe the item
2) Ship fast and secure
3) If customer has question or complaint, respond promptly
4) If the customer is not satisfied, offer a full refund
This may not guarantee positive feedback but will help from getting a neg.
If Sellers don't like the new policy and cannot adjust for whatever reason, take your business somewhere else.
I emailed this owner of the card below.
His reply, "That is not my auction. I do not know if the seller is using a cropped picture of my card. I would not trust it b/c the card in that auction is obviously in a holder, why would the seller hide that fact?"

Thats correct, BUT you have buyers out there that just cannot be pleased I have had them complain because I did not ship their item until Monday when they paid on Friday evening. No PO within 150 miles of here is open on Saturdays. I got a neg from a buyer because her 4yo son broke the item by dropping it from his second story window onto a concrete sidewalk breaking the item.. Don't see how that one was my fault, she negged without any contact at all it was not until I contacted her about it that she told me that.
