Teletrade - I've done something stupid. Teach me how to deal with it.

I've just placed a bid on something on Teletrade for an auction on March 2.

About 2 seconds after I placed the bid I realized that I'd be out in the field in the middle of nowhere in a third world country with the United States Marines on March 2.

I will however be back around March 7th and may or may not have internet in a hotel. Probably not.

What happens if I win on March 2? Do they declare me a deadbeat bidder before Mar 7?

Thanks,

John

  • Give them a call an let then know your situation.......
  • They will send you reminder once a week or so as a general rule, usually not getting p.o.'d till about the third week (yes, I did let one order slip through the cracks, but they are very good there). Funny thing is, they expect payment the same nite the auction ends. A phone call will straighten it out in a quick minute.

You should be fine. I think you have a couple of weeks to get them payment. People still mail checks so if you do an internet payment when you get back it's still probably faster.

A phone call explaining your situation should take care of it. image

  • Half of the "issues" brought up on these boards could be resolved with a friendly phone call. I agree with the consensus here.

Give 'em a call. They'll work with you. Hope you win the lot!

  • Just to clarify I am not a US Marine, however I am a US Gov't Tech Rep for the US Marine Corps and travel with, live with, and eat with the USMC in the field. We're doing an exercise in a lovely third world country soon.

I've had my share of MRE's in some cold and rotten or smoking hot and rotten places. And you take the good with the bad. One week you're in Iraq (bad, actually not so bad) and then the next week you're in Norway or Thailand (good, really good).

    I could complain but why?
