Gold coins for sale - help wanted
I'm a long time member of the PSA footall card registry, but have never posted on the PCGS boards before. I have 4 coins that I'm selling for my father, all were bought from the American Historic Society and come in a small binder with a certificate of authenticity. I'll be honest, I really have no idea what to ask. I've looked through the ending prices on E-Bay and the $10 sells anywhere b/t $700 and $1750, the $5 anywhere from $300 to $1000 and the $2.50 anywhere from $200 to $530.
As with cards, a lot depends on condition of the coins. I have coins myself, however I've never graded them as I'm only a casual collector (most I inherited from my grandfather).
My father needs to sell the coins because he was affected by the flooding in central IL and lost his apartment and most of his furniture. He has been living with my wife and I since early January and is moving back to Chicago and has to buy all new furniture. This isn't a sob story....however he doesn't really know much about coins and only bought these coins as an investment 5+ years ago (which it turns out was a good investment as gold his tripled since then).
The coins are:
1923 $20 Gold Saint-Gaudens
1912 $10 Gold Indian Head
1915 $5 Gold Indian Head
1913 $2.50 Gold Indian Head
All the coins appear to be in good condition but aren't graded. Feel free to PM or e-mail me at montooth13 at yahoo.com. I live near Chicago (Bolingbrook), so you can either pick the coins up in person or I can mail them to you.
Rgs,
Greg M.
