  • I do that all the time, so I feel your pain.

Some auctions end while I'm at school and I don't realize it, and I never even get a bid off.

Don't fret Alan. I had the same thing happen to me an hour or two ago.

I've been working on a report and time just flew past me and I missed the end by about 20 minutes.

    Sorry for the loss image

    Me too!!!

Had a lunch appt added to my calendar about 100 min before the end of an auction today - for an 1807 DBHE half from the Upstate NY cache. It was bid to low $200's and I really like these hoard coins. And, I prefer to snipe. But I put down a bid before I left for lunch in the mid $300's and hoped I could make it back in time. No luck - 3 min late and out bid by one other. Had I sniped it last second, good chance for a rip. Ugh. Then I got cheap on the 1813 CBH that followed and lost that one too.

I am a little less upset than I used to be about missed opportunities.

Aside, I am still surprised that the NY hoard coins aren't more popular.

I can't tell you how many times I've missed an auction because I was studying. I've learned to set alarms, etc to make sure I get them. It sucks, I've been there.

To be sure. Plenty of Washington 32 Ds come to market. Not to fret.

And you might save money. These are relatively common, and I would rather get one at a coin show so I could see it in hand.

Hey Jim, you won the coin I forgot to bid on. image

Congrats on the neat coin. Just though this was a weird coincidence.

Check the PM I sent you. image

That is another reason why I snipe everything. Set it and forget it.
