Vam Guys - I could use a little help

I have this coin in hand and I believe it to be a VAM 203, the short leaf. Just below the Eagle's right wing, your left as you view, the center leaf is certainly guite a bit shorter than several other Morgans I have compared it to. Please tell me if I am correct.
However, what's with the bump on the end of the nose? It's clearly from the original strike. It is a bump that rises quite a bit. Kind of like a huge wart on the end of her nose. I couldn't find anything VAM related to this. Anybody got any idea?
These are the sellers pictures from the auction page. I think the coin looks better in hand. Of course, blowing them up like this magnifies any imperfections.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

<< <i>May be vam-40, not real sure though.... >>
If by VAM 40 you mean 5 tail feather tips showing, then yes. It does have 5 tips showing.
So what's up with the shorter leaf? It's obviously shorter than regular Morgans or is that common in the 7/8 Morgans?
Still wonder about that large bump on her nose.

The "short leaf" description for VAM 203 refers to the one on top of Liberty's head, right below the R in Pluribus

Thanks much.
So what is up with the shorter center leaf on the reverse? Unrecognized VAM?
I'm not a VAM guy, but that knob on her nose got me to looking through VAM guides. Then I noticed the short leaf on the reverse.

Knockout looking coin. That would be a keeper in any set.

<< <i>Polished away, quite common in different areas obverse and reverse of 1878 dollars. Bump on the nose might be a small strike thru.

Thanks for the info.
Still, the bump is more than just a bump. It's large and it doesn't look like a strike through to me from what I've seen previously.
Also a bump for the evening crowd.
*Edit* The haze is on the slab. Looks like it was stored in stacks of other slabs and the plastic has a lot of friction rub on it.
