Anyone know anything about vintage Golf cards???

This was supposed to be a 1900 Cope's golf card but I'm assuming this is a reprint? It's on much darker stock than the few I found on Ebay and the back has a faint script of "MCIL" over and over again (kind of a watermark I guess you'd say). I know it's a longshot but any chance these are authentic Cope's cards or hold any value? Thanks for any input...

  • Thanks, I asked on the Golf thread also but so far no one is home. Anybody else familiar with these?

    Hi,

I've got about a dozen of the Copes cards, and I've never seen any which have MCIL on them. Your card appears to be on a darker card stock than the originals. So sorry to say it does appear to be a reprint.

Let me know if you have any other questions about these. I am not the best expert, but if you can get a hold of Dave Johnson (golfcollector on these boards), he knows more about them than anyone I know.

  • I am thinking reprint as well but wondered if anyone knew anything further about these... any value whatsoever?
