Should modern commems be .999(99)?

We have modern commems in .900 gold, .900 silver and clad.

Would you prefer to have them in .999 gold, .999 silver and .999 copper?

No. They should be clad and our business strikes should be precious metal.

Sure why not. With the increasing metal prices collectors prefer pure coins. They are also less suceptible to degradation from impurities. The only benefit from alloying them is reduced intrinsic metal value.

I only have one modern commem, but honestly, I like it in .900 silver. It distinguishes the coin from a chunk of bullion. Also, as a commemorative, it is basically a silver dollar, but with a different design (and in proof...)
