These are the 6's that came from the recent vintage submission I ranted about. Draw your own conclusions.

Proof positive that all 6's could be 8's on any given day.

    Wow Ron.

Those are some really nice looking cards!

Some have a "touch" in one corner - looking at my screen - but definitely look like 7 minimum - and I would guess if you resubmit - you'll see a bunch of 8s?

Good luck - on the resub if you decide to go forward.

IMO the first Fr. House (in 6) looks nicer then the one that went 7.

I'd resubmit those 6's and see if they would 8.

    Steve

    Good for you.

The Banks and the Robby appear properly graded IMO.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • Ridiculous... Are you selling these or resubbing??
  • RonBurgundyRonBurgundy Posts: 5,491 ✭✭✭
Resubbing, at some point. I agree with Steve's premise that 6's could be 8's on any given day, and vice versa.

The Robby and the Hoeft I can understand. On the Hoeft, there is some slight chipping on one corner (though I still think it's a 7.). On the Robby, print + chipping could equal a 6.

  • These were the same cards you contacted Joe about right? Are you sending them back in through him, or has that been done?

    Great looking cards though.

UMMM, I can see why you were upset. Those are sweeet looking cards, I hope someday they will get a more deserved grade!
  • You wuz robbed! Nice cards.

  • Beautiful cards. Let me know if you want to get rid of that Banks,

All the more reason to reinforce not submiting anything to PSA. I hate it when I get a sub back and it's more than 0.5 below the norm. I'll continue to sit on the sidelines until the grading standards return to reality.

If the Ramos and Jolly cards are PSA 6's then I'm Elvis. Thank you, thank you very much.

  • Never get Cheated

Pay Joe a few more times and they may get it right.

Maybe next time they will come back Gem 10 O/C
Its amazing how we continue to accept Amature service from "Leader in the Field"

Im with "gemint" I won't submit to PSA until their service is professional again.

Gotta agree from the scans - some seem too nice for a 6 and I grade conservatively.
  • ArnyVeeArnyVee Posts: 4,245 ✭✭
They couldn't spare at least a 6.5 on those first couple, huh? Sheesh.

That really makes me angry, and they are not even my cards. Being too tough and just as bad as being to lenient, in my opinion. How about some consistency, PSA!

  • All I can say is wow...

Joe I hope you check the MB and see what a poor job your graders did on this one!

  • great looking cards. I'm not real good at grading but I would have said 8 on them all.

I should be receiving a PSA 6 Mantle card I won on Ebay shortly, I hope the same guy graded it. If so, me cracky.

This makes me a little nervous about sending in my 6 freebees any time soon...

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

If I received a Mantle PSA 6 from ebay that looked like the Ramos and Jolly card I would be celebrating tonight. I'm very leery of sending anything in at this time. I actually have a bulk 100 card sub ready to go and I'm waiting to send it in. image

Got the Mantle card, not as nice as Ron's 6's.

  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Your Mantle looks to me like a nice 5. To much corner wear for a 6.

    Nice card though.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • fattymacsfattymacs Posts: 2,581 ✭✭✭
Yeah, the corners aren't that good, I couldn't tell from the auction scans. I'll probably be upgrading.
  • A '6' twice (SGC 80, 6 bust out)... Reckon it really is. The Terminator eye thing is cam reflection.

    image
  • Could it be ????

People are actually starting to realize that the grading opinions they have been paying PSA through the nose for are a waste of money...

Spend money on cards....not on inaccurate, overpriced grading!

  • Easy big fella, we're just talking.
  • Ron,

Now way in H*LL some of those cards are 6's...
