TOREX show report

Kelly and got to Toronto around 10:45 Sat morning. Checked into the hotel and after paying $12 for tickets, entered the TOREX bourse. Right away we met up with twokopeiki (Roman) who gave us a run down on the show.
I had a list of coins I was looking for and was only able to find one from that list. TOREX is hyped as the oldest coin show in Canada, correct, but it is not a large show by any means. Perhaps 40-50 different dealers were there. The show was held in a new venue this time which was an improvement over the old venue. This new place had wide aisles which helped with the larger crowd. But, the room was very, very hot. I couldn't stay there very long because of the heat. I heard some dealers complaining about the heat also. With all those lamps in there I would think the hotel would have turned down the thermostat.
Although advertising Canadian, World, and Ancient coins, the show is really for Canadian coin collectors. There was only one World coin dealer, Randy? Weir, and two dealers had ancient coins. Weir had a nice selection of World coins but his prices are, well lets say, strong. You won't get and great deals from him. Most of the Canadian coins for sale were in the $100+ range. Overall, the show was very disappointing for me. The highlight was meeting Roman and having lunch with him.
I was looking for MS60 1918 and 1919 25c and couldn't find any at all. Most of the higher grade coins were very stongly priced. I did buy three coins for myself and will post images later when I get them shot.
The bourse was fairly crowded in the morning and thinned out in the afternoon. In the afternoon I ran across Rob (bosox) and had a short chat with him.
This is the last TOREX I will attend. Not enough variety in the dealers, too expensive to get in, $6/person per day. I guess it is the auction that is the main focus of this show.

Went to the Hartford show today and only spent $14, the bourse was aglow with shiny bullion gold and silver.
